Morning Catabolism

Hey guys,

Last time I posted I acidentally used the womens forum, sorry. I was wondering if anyone knows what the time frame is after I wake up that I should consume protein in order to avoid catabolism. I am bulking, currently taking 1 gram of test enanthate per week.

well all i know is as soon as i wake up and lay hands on the blender and the powder!!! you take it right after you wake up and mix 2 scope depending on your caloric needs...
 
I wouldnt reccomend taking in your first meal as a shake. I would make sure your first meal is a solid meal. Also, you have been sleeping for 8 hours so you should eat immeadiately after you wake. Alot of ppl take in shake when they wake up to piss in the middle of the night to ensure that there bodies dont start to break down proteins for fuel.

Hey Da_fonz, don't you think that ones body craves for protein in the morning? not trying to argue, but why not protein shake in the morning? i usually take 2 scoops with banana and flax for my first meal and 30-60 minutes later am eating solid meal, by then the liquid form is going to the digestive process....just my 2 centavos
 
I think Dafonz might have misunderstood that what you meant by protein shake is just protein and not much carbs which they body also crave in the a.m. In general, you want both protein and carbs when you wake up and shit load of water.
 
yea, i hear you getripped12, most protein shakes have a decent amount of carbs in it to break the fast, and i also agree with you on the loading of water too....
 
I prefer the best of both worlds :)

I mix up a protein shake with skim milk, banana, blueberries, all natural peanut butter, ice cubes.

Then I'll eat some toast, eggs and a few strips of turkey bacon (Almost no fat and TONS of protein).

Oh, and don't forget to take the multi :)
 
Yeah, i mistook what was said. I was asming that they were gonna just have a protein sake and that be it. You def want carbs in the first meal. You also want to eat something shortly after since its digested in 30minutes. So that would be fine.
