Wider Legs

I've put about 5 inches on my legs in the past 6mos. but seems there getting taller and not wider if that makes sense. So I figured I'd start doing those stupid spread your legs machines (you know the one we all wait for the hott chick to get on and pretend were in there). Anyway will this help build wider legs? I also added cable kickout stuff. I really have no experience with either. Besides that are there power exercises for this or should it just be thrown out? BTW I stacked alot of weight and my crotch was in BAD pain for days so newbies beware. THANKS

Those machines will help define your adductors and abductors(inner and outer thigh) but it won't increase your sweep. You need to do leg work with your feet turned out to really work on the outer sweep.
 
Damit, I'm going to try lunges next leg day. I saw this because I always feel like I'm going to fall over when I try um. I used to like leg extensions but now I get such a pump from them I can't walk after only a set, and they hurt me really bad (in the muscle). Last time I tried 20 of them suckers it felt like someone drove spikes through my legs.


I've got an awesome idea for a dead weight squat machine. It would work on both weights and gravity and get heavier as you come up. Wish someone would build it. Been trying the hit your ass squats but they are really only heavy at the bottom.
 
Thanks MMX, I get what your saying. I'll try turning my feet out. See I didn't know that. Can't wait to try it. I'll mix it up inner and outer and try out the burn. THANKS
 
also try leg press bringing your knees to the ides of your body going real deep.
 
Sounds like you have plenty of mass on your legs now so why not try leg presses with feet together but turned out in line with your hips, these supersetted with leg extensions will really bring out the outer sweep, you won't be able to move big weights if you are doing them right but you will definitely feel it. After doing them do the same exercise with your feet turned in which sculpts the teardrop giving the illusion of an even bigger sweep, was shown this about 3 weeks ago and it is already starting to work and it really hurts.
 
THat is something that i need to look into,...i have Strong legs,...but not alot of mass on it,...So will try some of this too...thanks for this post...
 
Hacks always work good for me, but i do believe that genetics play a role here too, because my legs get sweep off of just about anything. Working your adductors is a must in my opinion if you intend on getting the freakiest legs possible:D .
