faster fat reduction in the midsection?

I don't know if this is true or not but my friend who is pretty ripped. Sais he wraps his midsection in seran wrap b4 his cardio and that creates more hear in your stomach area which will reduce body fat at a faster pace. Anyone here ever try this? Maybe it gives you the same effect it gives people who wear sweat suites.
 
Never heard of that. From what I know, to get really ripped to the single digits is purely diet. (Your friend may also have really good genetics as well.) Heat does increase metabolism a bit, so for the regular guy who hasn't got as far as single digits, I'd stick with a sweat suit--I guess that'd be personal preference since I'd think it would be easier to do.
 
haven't heard of it creating more heat but i have heard of bro's rubbing preperation H on and then wrapping it...the prep H causes the skin to tighten up around the muscle.....creates a more lean look...any one else on this thought???

That is something u do pre-competition, I have done it myself w/ the prep. H and it gets rid of excess sub-q water, as far as heat i wrap my midsection with a sweat wrap, and that causes heat and also brings out the water, and it does work, but u have to diet your ass off to get super ripped abs unless u r a genetic masterpiece (which i am not..lol)...hope this helps u bro
 
wow, the only thing I have heard people use prep H other than sugested use. Is people who model. Put it under their eyes the night b4 and the next day it will get rid of those eyebags. but I guess if there is one use for something theres bound to be another use for it. Hmmm I wonder if I should have put some prep H in my exgirlfriends mouth if it would have tighten it shut for bit? :D
 
The seran wrap thing causes the body to excrete more water from the wrapped location, but it comes back.........Kinda like sitting in a sauna.
 
I don't think anyone should wrap themselves in seran wrap. Thats just nuts and wouldn't do anything longterm but make you look goofy, or cut blood supply, or hinder your intestines from functioning properly, or make you stink from bacteria growth, or ect, ect, ect, Not a bad question. And I've seen it done before also. Not I though.
 
i ahve done that, as well as wrapping my entire legs and arms. i had to do it to lose weight for wrestling. the only thing it does is make you lose water faster...like a mini sauna. you actually can buy something called a sauna suit which is basically a soft plastic suit that has elastic around all openings. it keeps the heat in and helps shed water FAST! i used to go from 147 wed. night to 135 thur. afternoon my senior year in highschool. i'm sure bignick can relate to this.
 
Yohimbine HCL at 0.2mg per kg of bodyweight will help a great deal, but make sure your eating low carbs because insulin blunts the effect of the Yohimbine. Also CLA at 2 g's 3 times a day will help with gut fat.

i can relate on a level that is painful! That is one of the biggest myths of all time and it has been popular in the soccer mom community as well. The whole Body Wrap craze that happend a couple years ago was very similar to this. I used to cut alot in high school as well, but college has been a nightmare....the weightloss that those damn sauna suits attribute to is all water and i would go as far as saying they are not benificial for fat loss.

And flex, i used to cut from 200 every football season all the way down to 171 in high school...in college i was cutting from 220-230 all the way down to 184.....and during the season as much as 20lbs in a week. My diet is in check alot better and i have at most been cutting 10lbs a week....not too shabby. The daily loss record for me was 17lbs.....i wanted to commit suicide.

:curse: I am not advising that anyone do this....it is extremely horrible on a person to purge themselves of water like this
 
Wow, that sounds pretty bad. I didn't think it was a very healthy thing to do, but from what you guys say, my suspicions have been confirmed.
 
You should have seen BigNick in High school!!! He looked like a damn bobblehead!!! hahaha He would be huge on Monday then by Friday the first day of the meet his body was so little but his head was still HUGE!!!! lol Sorry BigNick just made me think of the old days!! But when life was simple and fun!!!

Luckily i have had plenty of time to train and grow into this melon.....the bigger i get the smaller my head looks.....good trade off really

17lbs for me too, from 147 down to 135. i sure felt like shit wrestling at that low of a weight class, especially since i could have had the varsity spot at both 140 and 145 but the state tourney was what i was looking at. when i was told what weight the college coach wanted me to wrestle at i said hell no and didn't even try in college. i have done a few open frestyle and greco tourney's for fun though. :thumbsup:
 
I was always a fat kid in High School, played LB on my high school football team. Made it to State Playoff game, we lost to an Orlando team. In HS I weighed 225 at 6'0 and was consistently running a 4.5 40yd. I was the fastest white kid on my team. Now, for some reason, I weigh much less, but no where near as fast, what gives? Ive lost as much as 7lbs in a football game before. Gained it all back that night at the after party though LOL. We went undefeated my Junior year there were LOTS of after partys.
