What pushes you?

What pushes you? What makes you finish your 35-minutes of cardio when at at 16 minutes you said "today I'll stop at 20." What pushes you through? What makes you overrcome?

I know getting to the gym is usually just routine. But what makes stay to do those crunches when you've already done your leg day?

HOnestly its the desire to be better than i was yesterday or fulfill my long term goal and without that drive or dedication, it aint gonna get you very far. Everybody's goals are different, i want to achieve being the best i can possibly be...I get to the gym every morning @ 5am for cardio and abs adn after work its back to gym for intense weight training and low intensity cardio, Some ppl look at me like i am crazy but i am striving for something more than they are

I'd say it's the drive to be the best that i can possibly be, I love challenging myself and progressing in weights and size or losing that extra fat. I think as bodybuilders by nature we are perfectionists, we are never big enough or have enough cuts and seperation that is another reason that alot of people are driven to do what they do, to have the perfect body. I myself do it for alot of reasons, for one thing I feels good to have an above average amount of attention placed on you just because of your sheer size, also having the opposite sex make comments is always nice, but mainly i do it cause I wanna be the biggest, strongest, freakiest SOB that I can possibly be! :satan:

Yea I workout the best when I'm pissed off also!!! But what pushes me is to continue to do what people said i couldn't. I love the look on thier faces when people I know haven't seen me in a while and I've gotten bigger than the last time they saw me. lol

hmm....good question. From time to time I believe everyone loses their drive, or gets off track. Sometimes it has to do with life getting in the way...I.E. priorities change for a while, it's a challenge to stay consistant day in day out. I think the best way to stay on track is to always make short term goals...instead of a long term goal. Such as this week....month...etc. I'm going to gain x amount of lbs or lose x amount of BF. Then when that time frame is up create a new goal. A bunch of small goals can equal a large one in time.

That's a big one for me. A lot of you have seen my before/after pics in the Members section so you know what I mean. Most people I knew don't even recognize me and then when they do, they say, "Holy cow! You're huge now!" I LOVE IT!

Rage:

Im happy to say not many people know what im talking about.... True rage stays with you every day for the rest of your life. It actually changes you, changes your personality. A glimps inside my rage= there is only one thing keeping me from killing, not just killing but freaking mutilating someone, then there family, then everyone that put me where I am today. Its a good thing I believe in the lord, because I would trade my life in a heartbeat to have my vengence.

maybe I should slow down on the tren a little....

Same here. Started out at 130lbs. Got sick and tired of being the smallest one around. I also love being intense and the gym is the perfect place for it! I honestly hate leaving. If I could go for 4 hours a day I would!

The fat people I see walking around

The drunk idiots I see drinking beer

The druggies who waste money on a one time deal to get high

The rich. Out of shape, stressed out & high risk of heart attack (You can buy a fast car, you can buy an indoor pool, but you can't buy my muscles)

Lance Armstrong, someone who has overcome so much and has committed his life to being more than anyone could ever dream.

All these people inspire me to live a healthy and active lifestyle.

Ya i'm also Irish i was wanny say, lol What no Guiness? lol Ya I must admit I LOVE it when someone hasn't seen me for a while then it's like BAM "oh shit your huge" lol. Ya that makes my day, lol.
