Pissed my GF off with our lingo

My GF's mom is going through some kind of treatment to cure hepititis C?

Anyway, it was explained to me that she was take pills and injections to rid her of this illness. So I ask my GF:

"So, what size pins is your mom sticking herself with?"

I've been with my GF for 4 years and I've never made her that upset at me.

ok--- I'll bite.. why? I guess you could have been more socially correct and said what size pin is your mom using for her injections.... She should know you by now to know what you mean wasn't meant to be spiteful.

She probably associates that jargon with taking AAS and took it as an insinuation that her Mother was doing something "bad." Or maybe she simply just didn't like the terms used.

Its not you, she is just really upset about what's going on with her mom and is taking it out on you. Just let it go and eventually she will get over it. Now you know of yet another thing not to say. Pretty soon all you will have is yes and no you don't look fat.

This wasn't a rational response - and that is because she is probably a bit freaked out about her mom. Don't try to look for a rational response. You didn't really do anything wrong, but DON'T try to tell her that. Just do like Mace sez and tell her you are sorry and do something nice for her. Or you can be right and be lonely.

Hell, I get irattional about things too. Ever hear about the Cubs?
