bodyfat % to see lower abs?

I'm sure everyone is different but I was wondering if there was a good guide to figure out what BF% I needed to get to in order to see all of my abs? Right now I've got a 4 pack... LOL looking for that 6 or 8 pack and wondering how much of it will be from focusing more on lower ab work and how much will be diet. All opinions welcome
 
I've heard that to really see all the abs, you have to be at least 7-8% bf. Typically, the last percentage points in bf in the single digit range are more controlled by diet, and I mean _strict_ diet.
 
Its very hard to see all your abs. You need a strict diet and good routine. 6-8% bf is when you normally would see all of your abs.
 
True, true. I'm at 9.6% and can almost get the bottom two, but for the moment, I'm still mostly at a 4-pack myself.
 
well I haven't lost any bodyfat but I've been concentratiing more on lower ab work and they're becoming more and more visible. I'm going to guess that my BF% is typically between 10 - 13% all year long. I've actually gained a few pounds in the past 2 weeks which I could only attribute to hard training and IGF-1, there's no way it's fat as my abs are being more visible. i know they say it's impossible to gain weight and lose body fat at the same time but I think on IGF-1 it's very possible
 
Yeah, you also have to build up the ab muscles for them to be visible, not just lower the bf %. If the abs are flat, there won't be anything to show.
 
I know you think I might be Bullshitting but, Im at 12% BF and I can see my Abs pretty good. It's all on how your abdominal muscles are built.
It really doesn't have to do with BF % all that much.. Ofcourse a guy with 30% wont
see his abs, and if a guy with 8% and no muscular abs you prob wont see the things... Just work your abs and keep the fatty foods to a min and drink assloads of water. Just my .02

I wish I could see mine at 12%.....

That's my goal for this cycle. I want to see all 6 of them.

I hear ya Z,..am at about 12% and i can only see 3-4 at times...gonna be using HGH to bring down the bf soon,....can't wait to see what i actually have under that burried 12%.. :D
 
now dont get me wrong... I cant see all 8... I can see the top 4....they are visable.. I guess I kinda read the thread wrong...
I was under the impression mikeswift was just looking for any signs of ab muscles..lol..
It's one of those glance reading things. :dead:

I always figured you wre slightly off balance....LMAO

On a brighter note, i tend to sit at or around 11 - 12% bf and i maintain 4 solid abdominal seperations....durring the summer i start showing 6 but my bf does not change that much to any great degree...I have noticed the older I get the harder it gets to keep the abs up...Md
