What to take after AM cardio

Anyone know what I should take after AM cardio. I know people that drink a good protein shake with some Glutamine but is there something better?
 
i always take a isolate shake to get protein to my body asap, as I do my am cardio on an empty stomach. Then about a half hour to an hour later, i have a meal with protein in it. I think the body needs prtein asap after not having any all night and then having to do cardio.
 
this is what I do bro and I am cutting, b4 my cardio I take 10g of glutamine with some water. After my cardio I mix a protein isolate shake another 10g of glutemine with 1/2 cup of oatmeal and water and 4-6 blue or blackberries and 1 tbl of hemp oil. seems to get my energy back up and not much fat about .5-1g only. and like 85g of protein and about 30g of carbs. But I run alot in the mornings.
 
I never do cardio on an empty stomach and always have a post cardio protien only whey shake after I'm done.
 
its ok to have to some protein before cardio. your body still goes into a catabolic state after cardio, so protein preworkout will have it readliy available in your bloodstream. also your metabolism stays racing after cardio, so you could also have 25-30 grams of dextrose with you postworkout shake. that will spike your insulin levels and help you uptake more nutrients from your next meals.
 
so if you take protein isolate which mine has no carbs,sugars or fat jut sodium and protein (70g) would you get as good effect as running on an empty stomach or would your body use the protein instead of the fat? really confused about this guys. empty stomach or protein with no fat or carbs which is better and why? :confused:
 
you dont need 70 grams preworkout, but you do need some when you wake up. 25-30gr is enough.
 
I don't think the protein shake before your cardio is going to do anything but slosh around in your stomach...

I would stick to the glutamine you're using before and hitting the protein shake afterwards with some healthy carbs like fruit or oatmeal 30 minutes after your session to replace the glycogen lost. the protein will help repair muscle tissue, either before or after you're body isn't going to burn it for energy unless you've gone ketogenic
