This could have been the worst experience of my life. It is required that they inject me with this MRI dye, right into the shoulder (in the joint).
I went in expecting a 1.5 inch 25g, no big deal....lmao
They pull out this 3.5 inch 22g (or so). The give me novicaine to numb the area. They mentioned that they are real "liberal" with the novacaine, so if it began to hurt, let them know so they can put more in.
They proceed to get it all numbed up and begin the real procedure. It immediately hurt but I tried to not be a puss because there was another doctor and a hot nurse standing in on the procedure.
It started to hurt a little more. I told them it hurt a bit. I guess I wasn't insistant enough because they didn't do anything but jab it in harder. Then I screamed, " SHIT....FUCK...THAT HURTS!!!" while wincing in pain.
To make a real long story short, they had to put 4 doses of the novicaine on and switched to a 3.5 inch 20g (or so, pretty thick) because the ink wouldn't flow into my joint. I almost had to have them stop the procedure because I was extremely close to puking.
When I got up from the sweat-drenched sheet I told the sit in doctor and nurse that it was way worse than I thought it would be. They told me it was by far the worse sit-in they have ever done. Then the doctor pointed out what they were almost going to use on me....a 5 inch pin. They said I har the 3.5 burried so for the plastic head was pushing in.
No matter what, I'm never doing that again.
