Cardio alternatives

As I wrote a while ago I was doing a shit load of running in the morning it has given me great results however my legs are naturally skinny and now they look like someone put my fore arms on top of my ankles GOD DAMN IT :curse: So what do you fellers think about puching bags or cycleling since those guys have pretty musclular legs. I was told by a trainer that cycleling uphill will preserve leg muscle and burn lots of calories. Only problem is that the nearest uphill from my home that would be long enough to give me a work out is 45 mnts awayl. No way in hell I am driving 45mnts @ 7am to do cardio. I was thinking of doing the German Volume Training. But since I am in the process of getting a new source I hope. I don't think doing it natural would be beneficial.

I assume you don't have access to a gym? One of those low-impact elyptical trainers would be good.

Its tough to build or maintain acceptable-looking quads with a bunch of running in the program. Walking and cycling should be pretty good.

viagra and a hooker are good alternatives unles you pay by the hour and not for the night LOL

Its called runnin stairs but skip EOstair. OR if ya can find a school with a stadium near ya and run staidums this will work wonder for ya.

Do you do any weight lifting at all?

Do activities that work your legs.

Hiking
Mountain Biking
Stair Climbing
Skipping

It's pretty simple if you think about it....

hahaha when i read the subject I was thinking the same thing Irish...

Seriously though anything you do that is fast twitch vs. slow twitch won't prevent you from gaining muscle in your legs. I'm a marathon runner and I train with a lot of Triathletes and a lot of them have pretty thick legs and they do tons of running and biking. I would equate it to being similar to spot reducing you can't do sit ups to burn fat around your midsection but you can convert more fast twitch vs slow twitch muscle fibers in your legs. As long as your doing a good leg workout for mass once a week you should be able to put on lean muscle and run...
