would clomid work?

before it was banned, i took 1-ad and saw decent results. although these arent numbers to brag about, my bench press went from 230 to 250 in one month, and i managed to do this while losing 10 lbs (from 180 down to 170ish). i also noticed greater muscle definition, size, and stamina while taking it. ever since, i have not found any supplement remotely close to giving me the same results and have considered taking steriods. through some research i have learned about cycle recommendations and have heard about a non-steroidal supplement called clomid, which i believe is part of post cycle therapy. from what i understand, clomid naturally kick starts your bodys own production of testosterone much like androstendiol. if this is the case, would i be able to take clomid by itself and see comparable results to 1-ad?

is there any particular reason you wouldnt recommend it? or do you just think that it wont work on its own? i am not trying to get freakishly big, i would just prefer to be lean and cut. i understand that diet is the biggest factor to acheive that, but i figured taking a supplement would at least speed up the process. i know there are steroids that can help, but i am hesitant to take them on account of side effects (i.e. acne, gyno) and the possibility of losing large gains once off the supplement. im sure that clomid is not exactly healthy, but it may be considerably less dangerous than injecting synthetic testosterone. also, from what i understand taking a steroid cycle would require things like post cycle therapy, anti-estrogen pills, in addition to test and most likely a cutting steroid. when all is said and done, id be spending at least 500 dollars, which isnt within my budget. id be willing to spend a couple hundred dollars, but i was told that wouldnt get me far. thats why i was hoping to just take something along the lines of andro, which was less potent, provided me noticeable gains without fear of side effects, and well within my price range. if you dont think clomid or nova would work on its own, do you have any recommendations as to what i could take? or if there is a steroid that is comparable to 1-ad?
