OFFICIAL NOTICE: LEE has pulled out of the Olympia!!! (By Bob Cicherillo)
His decision is based on his disapproval with the way the show is run and handled, he beleives he has to stick to his word. The contract for the show is toataly restricting and one sided all the way for the promoters to the point it is dissrespectfull to the athletes in some instances.

The promoters requirements of the Athletes prior to the event is totaly unnessacery and shows no compasion for the compettitors. The athletes have to participate in promotional products for the promoter which have the potential to earn millions of dollars with not one cent being given back to the athlete. The athlete has to sigh away his rights to image and likeness for promotianl and product endorsement with no financial compensation what so ever, plus in most cases go against there Sponcers obligations and rights.

All the athlete gets to be at the Super Bowl of Bodybuilding is there flight paid for, a room (with no cooking facilitys, and no microwaves) plus a $50 buck meal allowance, and 1 ticket to the event. If the athlete chooses to stay at a hotel other than the one given to them (because of cooking reqiurements) no transport will be offered to them to get to and from the event.

The judgeing is not independently monitored. The challenge round is a joke and takes away the anticipation of the top 5 plus the money offered in this round should be used to pay for athletes lower down the placeings or should have been put to the Womens Olympia , which has been demoted to haveing their show held in the EXPO hall! These issues are just some of the problems faceing the Olympia, and are issues shared by alot of the compettitors, its just that lee is a man of his word , so hes out, but not done by any amounts, trust me

Is that really true? Sounds almost like something fishy to me, but if they sign a contract...I'm not sure...I would bet that there is some legal precedent that says you can't sign away all your rights without requiring some form of compensation.

I'm surprised the IFBB even pays for their room and flight.
Just like any company, the fat guys sit at top getting richer.....and the laborers bust their ass all day for little in return
Thank god for contracts with supplement companies. But then supplements raise prices and nail the consumer.....us. We need someone to nail now :)

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIAS, no me digas and shit!

So Lee pulls out of the olimpia, the superbowl of BBing. I'm glad he has that job on the side...oh wait, he's a pro BBer. okay, this makes me crazy thing about it sorry...

What supplement contracts? Most offer their pros ONLY free supps or some only discounts on supps!
VERY few pay $, and even then it's dismal. MuscleTech used to pay Lee $3k per month. He left when they were trying to bring it down to $2k per month.

How much does the IFBB pay pros each month?

My guess would be less than 2K a month. But I'm not a pro like SOME people here so I don't know :)

I don't think the ifbb pays the pro's anything. They work off of prize money and advertisement work. Big A correct me if I'm wrong.

I agree they have to be making something. I saw Craig Titus once and he trained Vince Neil (Motley Crue singer) and the fricker pulled up in a new hummer and had fricken bling-bling all over him. You can't tell me theses guys are on food stamps. MM

IFBB doesn't pay anything. Actually every pro has to pay to the IFBB every year $150 for the IFBB membership. If they don't pay it, they can't compete. For that, you get in return this tiny cardboard card with your name on it and it says you are pro.

The money is not made from doing the bodybuilding as such. The pros with smart business sense use bodybuilding as a luanching pad for businesses, that is why they make $. They bodybuild for themselves more than for anything else. The ones that do it for the 'money' are the ones that you see selling gear and dealing rec drugs to survive.

Sorry Big A!!!! With you being a pro you know. Alot have good business sence and do well while the others give the sport a bad name I think. Just funny how things work out. Your whole life you want something so bad you can taste it and when you get there it is more BS then what it is worth. Unless you are the smart biz man. MM
