Anyone not use anymore?

Are there any of you who used to use, maybe even regularly (specifically people who have ran some to more than some cycles in their time) who have stopped all together?

If you care to share why you stopped that would be great, but I want to hear how they gym livelihood is now? Do you find yourself even MORE dedicated to the lifestyle now?

I have not done it personally but I was recently chatting to a guy who was a high level british competitor about 10 years ago, he gave up as he could no longer justify the cost against the reward, he now says he wishes he had never started bodybuilding, he still trains a bit but not much, still has 18" arms on an otherwise quite small body now

Not sure I qualify but I did stop using for a total of 10 years. Why? firslty mainly do to supply (I started in the 80's when they were readily available and there were no fakes, possesion was a misdemeanor). Any way, I trained fairly hard and then new natural supps (creatine, glutamine , hmb and good meal replacement ) came out and I had some really impressive gains. Then 3 years ago hooked up with some old training partners and fell back into it. Although, to a much lower degree, 2 cycles a year at most and at this moment in time I've been off for nearly 2 years. I race motorcycles so i ty to stay light during the season then I crashed hard in a race & recovery has been a long time coming.

I stopped because I got to where I wanted to be and I am also very aware of the long term implications of continued use on the body. I did 3 cycles and stopped when I had retained 30 pounds when off cycle. that was my original goal - I am not as big / strong / confident - yada yada yada - now that I have been off for a year and half - however I dont have the ups and downs and I am able to conduct my everyday life without obsessing over the gym.

I still train 5 days a week and now I just up my cardio to keep the fat off. ITs more difficult - but my body has fully recovered its hormone balance at this point - I dont feel bound - and I can actually engage in aerobic activiites like swimming and running without being out of breat after 3 minutes ;)

its all about what your goal is - its very easy to get hooked on the stuff too - the last 18 months I have had many temptations to jump back on - in fact I might have given in if I had not gotten a nasty case of gyno.

I am glad I did not as I am happy with where I am at - I currrently look very good - not awesome like I did when I was on - but most can not tell I was on - thye just think I am in really good shape and slightly big for my height - they would not guess I had ever done anything.

so you just have to keep in mind what your original goal was when you starte and not compromise your long term health either - you will regret it if you do one day.

before roids - 5'10 175 lbs 17%bf bench press - 170 now after 2 years on - 3 cycles - and 18 months having been off - 5'10 208 15% bf bench 260 ( I was up to 380 when on)
I fluctuate between 200 at 12% and 212 at 17% when I am letting things go. I feel best around 200.

I can honestly say i dont know if i will stop completely, i mean sometims i take long breaks (6months) but never fathomed the idea of cutting out altogether

Flexmaster had stopped at one point, but I haven't seen him post around here for a while. I'd be curious to know his thoughts about it.

Since I'm on HRT, I will never be able to "come off," but I have decreased the amount I was on to help give my body a break. My blood pressure finally dropped below the high normal mark. Overall, I think it has even helped me with my gains, probably due to some receptors clearing out or something like that.
