question on oil from tunafish

Ok a quick question , tunafish has alot of protein and is cheap so im going to start eating it , and also read on a creatine information site that raw fish has small dosages of creatine in it. When fish is cooked the creatine is degraded but well anyway im just wondering if the oil in the tunafish can is good for me to eat , or drink with the tunafish. Because well I read somewhere that fish oil is good too. So am just wondering if the oil in the can is actually fish oil or good for you or it is something else just stored in the can.

The oil in the can isn't fish oil - my vote would be a no. I prefer the tuna in water though. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the oil is just vegetable oil?

Yeah, it's just packed in oil. Goddamn, you'd drink that? It's making me gag just thinking about it, lol.

Good question though, I could see how it may be a bit misleading.

Malic-try canned salmon, tuna is good but be careful-get the light chuncky kind-avoid alabacore! Look this up online-albacore has a high level of mercury! This is in dispute whether it has occured naturally or not but it is there-the light version-or regular tuna has significantly less mercury in it-the larger albacore breed is a larger preditor and older this is one belief of why the mercury is high. Mercury can be problematic in mostly developing children, seniors and pregnant females but it still can pose a serious risk to all people and should be avoided. Again-try an internet seach-"tuna or fish and mercury" look for official pages by the FDA or other gov. agencies that specify the servings and suggestions, keep in mind organizations like pita will say all fish is toxit so be aware of that too. Salmon, sardines are good and I eat them about every other day-they are cheap and easy to prepare.

Correct...it is either just water or vegetable oil....either way, don't drink it...boil it to get rid of excess sodium.

ok so if I boil the tunafish will it degrade some of the creatine thats in the fish? I mean cause thats one of the main reasons I was wanting to start buying alot of it.

I would say yes. But you would have to eat soo much red meat to get enough creatine - god only know how much tuna!

just supplement with creatine. Its cheap. but of course high protein intake is more important.
