Abs, Forearms and Calves

So I work every body part once a week (typical)

I usually try to get in my abs about 3 times a week (about 5 to 6 sets, varying reps), my calves twice a week and my forearms twice a week.

does anyone not recommend this? It seems like these body parts don't develop as well without extra work...
?

for some people in regards to those highly used bodyparts volume seems to be the key, volume and frequency..but it is like anything in this world highly person specific..

that is what i would go for, working in that body part more than once per week. For abs though, at least for me, to get optimal results i would shoot for 5 days a week and about 6 differnt exersices, 3-4 sets a piece. As for forearms, heavy deadlifts and straight bar curls work for me, and i dont even want to talk about calves, they suck and never grow for me, lol

Do you you use wrist wraps? I know alot of guys say that using wraps will take the load off the forearms, but I use them and still get a good pump in the area. I guess I just grip the bar so damn hard?

i use wrist wraps for heavy deads and shrugs its hard to hold 600 pounds for a static shrug i cant hold it anyways so yes i use them sometimes. My forearms still grow pretty well i do a few wrist curls once a week and the forarm exercise where you role up the weight. I actually have been blessed with decent calf genetics mine are a little over 17's which make me happy when i think about but i train them twice a week as well with legs on mond. and with back on fri.
