xenical soon to be OTC?

What do you guys think about this pill it was sold by Rx only soon OTC. Its suppose to block fat. Another bs pill or what?

I was just going to make a post about this. Well, the FDA is thinking of approving it. I don't believe everything the govt. says but most the other b.s. things are not FDA approved. They say it blocks the absorbtion of about a quarter of the fat from each meal its taken with. The FDA is concerned with people using more than the recommened dose per day. So, if it is legit buy up before some fucks take too many and die and the FDA bans it!

The problem is that most obese people get that way from far too many calories, a lot of which come from carbs. Just blocking a bit of dietary fat is not going to help them lose weight. Gumb dovernment.

Let me tell you about Xenical. Even if it were OTC I would not take it. The side effects are awful. Well, I guess they are not side effects. Yes, Xenical blocks fat from being absorbed, BUT once the fat has been blocked in the GI tract, it come out like a rocket! If a fatty meal is eaten, people experience explosive diarrhea, runny loose stool, nasty ass gas etc. This is how the drug works. The thing is, it can't tell a healthy fat from a bad fat. I you suppliment with Fish Oil, almonds, flax, eat red meat etc. BOOOOOOM! It has its place in the Rx community. It can really change the way people eat. People eat low fat to avoid the SE. I don't know, i wouldn't mess with it, but thats just me...

The fat has got to be excreated somehow. It is through the stool. I don't think you will have to wear a daiper but sure, it can be a reaction. The main concern for bodybuilders is that as well as blocking fat it is reported to block vitamins. As a bodybuilder I am used to taking frequent trips to the john-it happens when you eat 5 times a day. But sure I don't want to loose vitamins, or get dehydrated. The product is not for me anyway since I do not have a b/f issue. Just trying to give some insight.

Great point. At least the fat soluble vitamins could have trouble being adequately absorbed...

doesnt synthetek have something similar to this product anyways???

well on the plus side i guess this pill will always keep your toilet shiny :moon:
