Man, today was aweful. Nauseated all day. All I have had to eat today is oatmeal and a bowl of chicken soup. If I try to eat anything else, I feel like I am going to hurl... :drooling: I can almost feel the muscle melting away. I have been able to hydrate myself, but I can't even stomach a protein shake. One of those days I guess. Definately did not lift today (although I was going to try). I knew I hadn't eaten and I would probably feel even worse. Do any of you guys train when you are ill? How to you keep up with nutrition? Hope this is over quick, everyone else has had it for a little over 24 hrs...

aww i for one can still eat a little when sick usually unless i get hit with a horrible case of flu i can usually stomach some chicken or somethin. but it depends on how sick i am if i feel horrible on say a monday then i just throw my workouts in and use monday as a rest day then train tues. through sat. i go 5 days a week sometimes 4 depends on how im training. i dont think one day rest is gonna kill ya bro just get your shit in when you start feeling better and hit it hard youll be fine.

Sometimes I try to train but just to higher volume and limit my weight or just do 1 set of heavy weight. It is not a good idea though because your muscles don't even have the energy. I cannot train when "snotty" either, lots of nose running and sneezing. That sucks just as bad. Better to rest and save the workout for another day. Otherwise you are cheating yourself, I am sure your immune system takes unneeded strain as well.

I had that shit yesterday. made it to work, and then BAM!!!! spent most of the first 2 hrs in the bathroom hurling and then went home and crashed for a good 15 hrs.

I didnt eat a speck of food for about 20hrs. I knew it would come right back up. It hits quick, but was gone quick too.

Sounds like my day yesterday as well. Except I try to maintain my regular diet, though it's difficult. As for the training...No. I never go to the gym and train while I'm sick. I've heard it's better to rest up and get back to 100% quicker.

Hope you guys get better soon. When I get sick, if it is only a little cold, I train but not to hard. Anything more, I stay home and try to eat as much as I can stomach. If I can't eat, I can literally lose 3-4 lbs in a day--and it isn't just water weight. My metabolism goes into overdrive and causes my body to eat itself, and it is hard to gain it back.

Feel better bro's I was there myself a few months back and had to drive my ass to the doctor because I felt like I was going to die any second... I guess while throwing up in the middle of the night I wasn't drinking anything to replace all the lost fluid and I was seriously dehydrated. The doc was going to give me an IV unless I promised her I would drink 2 large bottles of Gatorade as soon as I left and an additional 2 liters of water. I had to take some medication just to be able to stomach the fluids but it's amazing how much better I felt once I was able to get it down. Good luck bro's, get lots of fluids and feel better soon.

sometimes i go to the gym and do a little cardio to try to sweat it out of my system
by going out and going to the gym you dont feel that bad about yourself which is the worst part about it
