Question I have weight lifting at school now.. So after I get home from school since I already did my weight lifting at school should I do light weight training for those same muscles to try to help speed up recovery?? Or should I also do heavy again???

I don't think I'm understanding your question. If you are training HEAVY at school, how would training the same muscles again LIGHTLY speed up recovery? If anything it would slow down recovery. And why would you train the same muscles heavy twice in the same day? If you're going heavy at school, don't train the same muscles again the same day. Rest up, that will speed recovery.

Thats right, as many a wise lifter has said, you don't grow at the gym, you grow resting and eating. If anything this class should help. It will give you more time to rest at night.

kdogback in 98 i was a highschool senior who had a weightlifting class 8:00 a.m. because i was a football player, but in the offseason(weightlfting team) i had weightlifting at 4:00 there was days where i benched heavy on the same day. if you can get your body used to it and with a good mind set it can work. the coaches told me your body can fully reload in 8 hours when you are young. in the a.m. i did a standard pyramid at that time ended up with a set of 6 with 315. then in the p.m. weightlifting team work we didnt do alot of reps because it was to focus on a power workout i would be told to use heavy weight for no more than 5 reps. i ate like a horse but i started the season strict pressing 340 for the meets, and in the state championship which i had to get flew home to the meet from the bahamas(senior trip) i benched 425 strict at 18 after a week of drinking constantly so i believe everyone is different so use everyones information as a guide go what works for you. the main thing you need is alot of water and alot of protein. i hope you arent on juice... wait till atleast 21 when your body has fully evolved into the man you will be. good luck bro.

Malic,
This question just makes me realize just how young and inexperienced you really are. You need to do much much more research on training and health. This just drives home the point that you should not even think about using supplements let alone eluding to the fact that you want to or you are going to take steroids. All of this is just rediculous. You don't know how close you are to me banning you for your stupidity.

What???....you don't think you've done anything wrong??? Well, try this on for size. So you're workiing out for 5 days and and realize the size just isn't coming on as fast as the magazine said. So you decide that you're going to get some 'roids. (that's what you and your friend's call them) After using them for 2 weeks you suddenly start coming down with a serious case of roid rage, your parents find out, and you blame MC when your parents are thretening to send you to rehab. Suddenly we have a boys parents threatening MC with a lawsuit.

So you see what a problem you could be causing here at MC, right??? Please tell me why I should let yo stay here...Also I need to review MC's rules, but I thought that members need to be 18+ to be here. I'll check that out and get back to you.

I'm not trying to be a prick, but if you would have just stayed away from the supplement and steroids topic like I have suggested (too many times in fact) this conversation would have never happened.

I don't remember him bringing up steroids at all unless I missed something or it was in a PM. But Malic, I'm going to have to agree with BiggerStronger here. Instead of asking questions every time some minor detail comes up, do some reading...the answers are already here. Especially hundreds of posts answering this question you just asked. If you had just done some reading you would know that more is not better if you're trying to gain muscle, I've heard it a million times!

I try to answer all your posts because I understand where you are coming from. You remind me A LOT of myself when I was your age. Same build, weight, curiousity..everything! I wanted to know it all right away and find the perfect way to do things along with that "miracle" supplement that it seems you are looking for.

I have answered 2 Tribulus posts of yours now saying it's not worth your money. I'm not an expert here by any means, but I have tried A LOT of supplements out there, especially when I was your age. I have been disappointed many times because I expected a lot more out of them than what I got. If you want my personal opinion you ONLY NEED Protein, a Multi-vitamin, maybe creatine and glutamine, and tons of food right now at your age. I wouldn't worry about any type of testosterone at the moment, your body is producing enough. Eat, train, and REST. It took me a while to get this through my head too, but don't overtrain! I overtrained for years and it hindered my gains.

You may not see gains right away, but keep consistent. I used to get down on myself all the time because I have always been small and it didn't seem like my hard work was paying off. But if I look at myself year after year in pictures, video's..etc. I can see my progress. Your gains will come gradually.

Be thankful you have this site. I wish I had found it when I was your age. But also try to learn from the posts here. It doesn't seem the info is sinking in, you are somewhat asking the same questions over and over again. Also, the best way to find out if things work is to try them. Try different training techniques see what works best for you. Keep stats of your physical condition as well as what weights you are lifting each time you try something and this will help you in determining what works best. As for supplements right now at your age, I spelled it out above for you. If anyone has anything else to add, please do. Read up, most of the questions you ask are already spelled out for you in other posts. I hope you are able to stick around... Good luck!

Amen, Malic you seem like you have the motivation to reach your goals but you really need to read up on things before you come here with a question. There are SO MANY good books out therem one being Arnold Schwarzeneggers ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MODERN BODY BUILDING which you can get for under 30 bucks(at least by me) at any Borders. Also, like PJT said there are so many great posts about a lot of the questions you've asked already on this site, just not in the 10 most recent posts. Just search around, you can even just go to the search option and type in the key word(s) you're looking for and EVERY post with that in the thread will apear.

You need to understand where BiggerStronger is coming from Malic, he's not trying to be an asshole but with all the stuff thats beign going on in the past years ex: taylor hooten commiting suicide and that HORRIBLE depection of aas use on MTV, if anything were to happen and you mention MC, this amazing site might potential get shut down, and they have a business and over 14,000 memebers they have to look out for.

Be smart, do your research and when you have a question you can find the answet to anywhere else THEN anyone here would be more than happy to answer for you.

I just re-read my post and it seems I came off pretty harsh with malic. I apologize for that bro, but you need to understand where we're coming from here.

Listen bro...From now on you may ask questions about diet, and training, but that is all. Do not think about using or asking questions about supplements or anything else. If you follow that rule then we shouldn't have a problem. Also use the search function to research your questions 99% of the time your questions have been asked and answered before. If you can not find an answer than go ahead and post the question.
Start putting in the work and you'll start getting results - until then we shouldn't hear any problems or any more questions. The basics have already been laid out for you.

When you are younger you do recover faster, but I certianly would not train the same body part twice in a day. If you want to listen to powerlifter Mike you can definitley get stronger but you won't see much in the way of sizeable gains. Kdog's right you grow when you rest not when you train. Think of your muscles as a building and weight training as an earthquake. If you already damaged the structure and your body is trying to repair it what good is another earthquake going to do to an unstable building?
