Orange Juice??

Ive really never drank a lot of orange juice and while on one of my "nutritional facts kicks" in the fridge I read the O.J. jug.

1 Cup of O.J. has
120 cals 0 from fat
0g of Fat
Shit ton of potassium
29g Carbs
28g sugar
1g protein

Now what does this mean? This isnt a good course of Carbohydrates but would it be acceptable post workout? Lately my workouts have been so hard core I have been feeling like not eating after my lifts, would a piece of grilles chicken, a protein shake, some veggies, and a cup of O.J. be ok? What about in the A.M. instead of oatmeal?

It's so acidic you'll probably puke using it post workout. I mix my TrueProtein with white grape juice and then have a real meal.

the one thing that oatmeal will provide is fiber as well as giving you carbs that aren't just sugar which OJ is almost completely made up of... I drink it a couple of times a week anyway, good source of Vita C and I like the taste of it

I never have an appetite after working out so i use liquid only in my PWO meal. I use whey and dextrose. Its best for a PWO shake and wont be as acidic as the OJ in your stomach.

Its a easy way to get in alot of calories post workout.

I use OJ or Grapefruit juice when I take my vits in the AM and before I workout along with my shake and oatmeal.

man there is no way in hell i can eat cooked oatmeal. I put one cup(uncooked) in my protein shakes and if you blend it well it actually adds flavor to an otherwise bland shake.

there are studies somewhere that discuss how grapefruit juice actually helps transport nutrients across the membranes... or some kind of high science crap I do remember that it's proven to help get them into your blood stream faster.

I just remember years ago when we used to get UG orals everyone was always taking them with grapefruit juice and swearing by it. There were even guys who used to gossip about other bros being on cycle because they saw they drinking grapfruit juice... pretty funny actually

ive had insane cravings for orange juice for the past 2 days

its a sign

from above

.... that i need more vit C or potassium...?

Why is beer not a suppliment? In moderation it would provide a quick source of carbs, calories and increase blood flow? I'm talking like 1-2 beers?

probably because of the alcohol content, empty calories and the diuretic effect...
not sure but doesn't the alcohol convert to sugar when broken down?

This is true---honestly, I've never been drunk --I'm starting to sound like an alcoholic

actually if you drink guiness (sp?) its got protien it too. They actually fed it to solders as a meal supp. durring ww2. Maybe thats why i get full from just 5 pints.

The information on grapefruit juice is not quite correct. It doesn't make things absorb more quickly, but it _does_ intensify the effects of many medicines/compounds. Some medicines have warnings that include "do not take with grapefruit juice" on them because the effect is so pronounced. It can be almost like you took a double dose which is extremely dangerous to do with some medicines.
