Debris in vial everytime ??

Hello guys !

I'm about to simply forget the whole game of homebrewing after trying to make a batch of test enanthate carefully and always ending with a tiny transparent like hair in every vial I make (filtered with a 0.2 microns whatman sterile and sealed). It really looks like a hair but transparent color, its not visible on first look but checking into the vial carefully at light. I filtered 3 times and there is style some in the bottle this is getting frustrating to say the least.

Any idea of what it could be ?

Before piercing the vial with the needle I cleaned the top of the vial with alcohol pad..

Could it be crystals ?
 
i know when i draw out prop and then draw a little eq it kind of looks like what your describing. it could just be the oil.i find it hard to beleive that there is anything foregin in your gear after filtering 3 times.
see if you can go in there with a 18 and draw anything up
 
Yes its very weird indeed..

I will wait a few days and see what happens, my guess it is a alchohl pad string that went into the vial when the filter needle pierced the rubber..

Any other idea ? I really want to know what it is :angry:

Well the mystery is solved, I just filtered some grapeseed oil and found out that my alcohol pad does leave some tiny string on the rubber...

Guess Ill get new ones!

Would it cause an abscess to inject string of alcohol pad ??

i'M ABOUT TO DO MY FIRST CYCLE EVER. I'M GOING WITH TEST PROP ALONE. WHAT THE BEST SIZE PIN FOR THIS?
 
is it only one string in the bottle?? is there any way you can go in there with a pin and draw it out. even if you waste a few drops of gear it would be better than risking an infection

DEPENDS on where you are injecting. I use these sizes for the following areas

Bi, tri, calvs,chest,traps 25g 5/8"
shoulder,quads 23 or 25g 1" some people use 5/8" but I have big enough shoulders to use the inch ones
Ass 23g 1 1/2".

I wouldnt think the tiny strand would cause a problem because it is surely sterile (I mean, the tiny string has been saturated in alcohol since it was made).

thats not to say it couldnt cause an infection...its really individually based.
 
If you used a 18g pin to filter, there's a good chance it may have gone in when puncturing the vial. OTOH, it may have been present in the "sterile/sealed" vial from the start. The first time I homebrewed I used an 18g to filter with and ended up w/ debris and chunks of rubber stopper in the vial. I don't think a strand of cotton would make it through a 22 micron filter. Anyway, I just sucked out the debris with a 20g and during further homebrewing used 20g pins to filter through b/c 18g are just too big.

My suggestion would be to "fish" it out/draw it up with a 20g needle, then you have no worries. OTOH, it may just be an oddly-shaped crystal that is fallen out of solution. What concentration did you make this, and what hormone was it?
 
Yes I used a 18g to filter the gear in the sterile vial. I made test enanthate at 250mg/ml so I do no think its crystals but a string of alcohol pad. I just bought new pads and filters to finish this nightmar homebrewing :dizzy:

I made the same mistake of using 18g for filtering on my first homebrew. Ended up with chunks of rubber stopper in the vials. you probably pushed the cotton string through the surface of the vial stopper w/ the 18g pin. I use 20g needles now, takes a slightly longer time to filter but it is worth it in the end.
 
I just made test e and used a Lemelange 100 ml sterile sealed vial and there is what looks like small flakes floating around at the bottom. I used a Milipore Stericup .22 filter and never had a problem before. Has anyone else had this problem with a Lemelange sterile sealed vial before?
 
Could Be One Of A Few Things.

Did U Hit It With Enuff Heat To Dissolve All The Powder?
Try Reheating The Bottles In A Water Bath.

Did U Do It With A Whatman?

When I Brew I Brew Large Batches,and I Use A Servent Solutions Filter...way Faster Than A Whatman...but I Notice When I Dnt Let The Oil Cool Before Bottling Little Rubber Peices From The Melted Syringe Plunger Goes Into The Bottle.

If Anything Else Pops In My Head Ill Post.

I know what your problem is. Your Glass, where is it from do you think it sterile? Not likely learn how to sterilize it yourself brew your gear like you've been shown on here. And particulate shoule be unlikely. Tap water contains 50 000 types of different paticulate so rinsing is a joke. Work in a clean setting and prep your glass.
 
after you added your oil to your dissolved hormone did you heat and stir until the swirls where gone. once you add the oil to the ba and hormone you should heat and stir untill the swirls are gone and heat another 10min.it could be that your just seeing swirls they look like clear hairs.im no expert just my opinion.
 
i had the same prob with primo, looks like some kind of oil swirl i just baked it and it was fine after.
