I've been trying pretty damn hard to increase my ab size, but I have no idea what to do. I have a nice cut, but no size in the abs... NEED HELP

incorporate some weights with it, do weighted crunches, roll pull downs, hang raises and many more others....those should work...

Give us some stats.

Personally I could be totally wrong here... But I believe the reason why im wearing 34's is cause my ab muscles are huge underneith a small layer of fat..... Atleast thats what I keep telling myself lol. I wont even bother doing a sit up until I get my bf down to 10%- just dosent make sence. But thats me....:)

Can that be a reason for your stomach to bulge out? I have minimal fat over my abs as well, but my stomach bows out when relaxed. I can flex them completely flat, just that when I relax, I'm not flat. Can there be a lot of fat _underneath_ the abs?

My ex had the same problem, honey, but maybe you'll take my advice...he was a lazy, lazy boy. --again, I can sure pick 'em. *rolls eyes*

If you keep working on your abs they will begin to be flat even when relaxed. I dated a really skinny guy---I mean skinny--- and his abs did the same thing. He had no fat it was just he never worked his abs. It will take time but there will be a time when you no longer have to contract your abs to make your stomach flat...as for exercises check these links out that I found for ya...

Thanks for the links, AB. There are a few that I haven't tried before so I'll work those in. It isn't that I don't work my abs, because I do. I've been training for nine years. I noticed this bulging developing about 5 years ago and it has become a little worse every year. I kind of have a short torso so I'm beginning to think that in developing my abs, as they've grown, they want take up space but there isn't room for them and my intestines so they bulge out. And of course after I eat, they bulge out more (in the morning it isn't that bad). I will probably only be able to know what's happening for sure by having an x-ray or MRI done to see what exactly is there, fat or muscle.

have you had your BF% tested bro? I go through the same thing each year they stick out a little bit more depending on what my diet and cardio look like... I need to get my BF tested more often

Tony...no problem. Make sure you are training your abs to where they are sore. Switch things up constantly and do lots of cardio. I as well, have a short torso which sucks, I know, but you might also be seeing your body wrong. When you look down on your abs it looks like its fat, but when you look in the mirror it looks cut. How are you looking at yourself? I know it sounds terribly stupid, but it is also very common thing for people to do. So, I hope I don't insult you by saying that. *crossed fingers*

And again, the more different things you put yourself through the better off you are. If you know anyone who plays tennis...play tennis with them. I have heard that is one of the best ab workouts a person can have.

Good luck!!!

That's ok, AB, you have some great advice. I'll have to try a new ab workout taken from the great links you posted to see if anything changes in the next while.

I'd like to know exactly what my BF% needs to be in order to see my lower abs... I see fat guys at the gym all the time who have abs and I have no idea how it's possible. I know a few of them have growth gut (from HGH) but I've seen a few guys over the years who have to have 15% -25% BF or even higher but yet you can clearly see their abs... it puzzles me!

is that true for fat old guys too?? :) I havent seen pecker in years.....

This sucks ab you totally ruined my non-ab routine. I feel guilty now if I dont do abs....
