cardio during a cutter

I have come to accept that i may have over done it on cardio in the past. Running for one hour to an hour in a halve 5-6 times a week. So i will try to cut with cardio at a lower amount. If yo run on a treadmill @ 5.2 miles speed for 30 minutes you burn 300-400cal. If you use a punching bag for 30mnts you burn about 200cals. So if i wanna burn about 2k cal per week and not run too much how should i schedule my punching and running? Remember i have very thin legs so i wanna keep the running to a very minimum. I was thinking m-f do 30minutes of punching in the A.M on emty stomach only glutamine(10g)for a total of 1000 cals burned those 5 days. Then thursday and friday also do 45minutes of cardio after my pm work out for a total of 500-600 cal burned those two days. This will produce a grand total of about 1,500 to 1,600 cals burned a week from cardio alone. What do you guys think of this. Over training or what? I will be comsuming about 2,700 cals per day and 200-300 complex carbs with at least 400-500grms of protein. My current weight hopefully will be 185lbs at the start of my cutter. All opinions are welcomed! thnx

well a couple of easy things you can do to burn more calories while running... for starters you're running too slow, you've got to up that speed to at least 6.0mph and mantain that for a shorter duration and you'll burn a lot more K's. The other thing you can do is run intervals, after a 5 minute warm up, sprint for a minute and take the same amount of recovery and repeat. I do this and do it with distance as well so I'll run 5 x 800 meter repeats with an active recovery, on my recovery I bring the speed down to 6.0mph and when I'm sprinting I amp it up to 9.0mph and hold for 90 seconds or 2 minutes. What happens is that you will burn a lot more calories a lot faster without overtraining because of the rest intervals. During your recovery your HR will stay elevated to a certain degree as will you O2 intake so you'll be burning more calories than you would be if you hadn't run the sprint section... ya dig?

for some weird reason i did try the interval with out succes. They fucked up my knees and my legs got skinny still. Also i was told that if i run faster than 5.2 you are using alot more muscle then fat. who knows how true this is? the main reason is that i have done intervals and was not happy with the results.

you will not burn muscle to fuel your runs, you will burn carbs and fat. Whoever told you that is high... And running is not going to make your legs skinny or skinnier that would be equivalent to spot reducing which we all know doesn't work. If you're legs look skinnier it's probably because you're already lean and if you burn fat overall it will show in your legs as well.

You need to do 2 things: 1) Run faster 2) Do Squats.
Both problems solved.
