Opening A Private Fitness Studio

Allright,

I'm looking into opening up my own private fitness studio planted not 30 feet away from Premiere Fitness & right next door to a supplements store!

I have a meeting with the leasing company next week as well as the people from www.bodizone.com about getting everything setup and what steps I need to take.

I don't know for sure if I will be able to do it, I think I'll have to come up with around $50 - $75,000 to invest as start up so a lot of this is going to depend on wether or not I can get the money together.

I am just so damn excited I had to tell someone and make a little log about it. I also heard if you write things down and tell people about what you are doing you are way more likely to actually do it and stick with it so I figure if I tell like 1000 of you bro's, that might help ;)

I'll keep you posted if it goes anywhere. This could just be a dream and might not ever see the light of day but I'm pursuing it right now and I really want this.

If anyone has any advice or opinions feel free to voice them ;)

whats tha difference betweena regular gym, and a private studio?

Well first off, private studios are more of a 1 on 1 private training thing so it's not like you can just walk in and train. You have to book appointments to use the facilities or have personal training.

They can offer a lot that a large gym simply can't.

Here are some examples of who & why people use private studios:

People Who:
- Want a professional personal trainer
- Want very personalized training & nutrition plans
- Don't want to train in front of a lot of people
- Want very specific training (Sports, Rehab, Bodybuilding)
- Enjoy a clean / private atmosphere (Luxurious facilities)
- Want to change up their routine and keep things fresh
- Anyone who wants to try something new
- Friends, Groups & Sports Teams
- Business Executives that don't want a large busy gym.

Why:
People mainly come into a private studio for personal training. Personal trainers in a studio are generally more knowledgable than the trainers you find in a typical gym and can give a lot more attention & detail to each individual client.

People may already have a gym membership somewhere else or train at home. They would come in once a week and I would record their weight, measurements and progress. I would design a nutrition plan for them and show them new exercises and give them a routine to do for the following week. They would spend an hour or two with me once a week, I would show them how to correctly perform all the exercises in the routine. They would then take the nutrition & training plan and go back to their regular gym for the rest of the week to follow the plan. Private studio's keep them on track and the routines fresh.

People may want to change things up or have a personal trainer push them hard once or twice a week. I could put them through some challenging workouts that they might not get at the gym.

Other people may not want to share public facilities / washrooms and do not have the space or money to have an entire set of gym equipment at home. A private studio offers them very clean private facilities with marble counter tops, clean showers with expensive faucets etc... It is a private club they can come to train at.

There are many different uses for a private studio and many different people can come to fill different needs.

Group training can be provided to some friends who would like to train together or sports teams can make use of the facilities (A sports team would have a hard time bringing 10 people into a gym and having access to ALL the equipment). A private studio gives people a lot of options they do not have at a regular gym.

Personal trainers may not want to be associated with larger fitness chains or share a huge cut with the club. They can train their own clients out of my private studio one on one without the crowds.

Private studio's provide personal training on a very personal level. A lot of attention and detail is given each client & their invidual needs are met on every level.

Oh, and I'll pump whatever CD/Music you want! You can't get that at a regular gym!

As you can see there are many uses and clients for private studios and there are many more that I have not listed!

it sounds ideal, I would definitely consider utilizing a Private Fitness Studio and I've been a trainer in the past and I've been a running Coach as well. What appeals to me about it is having a knowledgeable staff on hand and having a nice, clean facility without a bunch of gym rats roaming around or trying to impress the chicks
