Alright well I went to the gym today , since its monday - my chest shoulders and tricep day.

I did like 10 sets of flat bench , 12 sets on decline , 6 sets on incline , 4 sets of db bench , 3 sets of butterflys , 2 sets of L curls to build my rotor cuff muscles , 6 sets of shoulder shrugs , 6 sets of tricep extensions , 2 sets of should presses with dumbells , shoulder raises out to the side like 2 sets ,

And then sat in the sauna for about 30 minutes and burnt off like 4 lbs in there

now we see why you have difficulty gaining weight. You are overtraining IMHO.

35 sets for just chest!!!!

Look Malic -learn this early and safe yourself some time.........LESS IS MORE

Learn from this former skinny guy. I do 1/3 as much lifting as I used to and get twice the results. I only do 9 sets for chest AND delts combined. And that is a little on my high side of sets.

I agree with Dreww. You wont get any bigger doing a large number of sets. Look at someone who works in day labor-they lift all day but their bodies get used to it so they do not get big. You have to stress the muscle and keep reps and sets relatively low to build mass. Further more you should only train each group once per week.

WOW!!! Yes like dreww said you are overtraining by ALOT! For your chest you should only be doing 9-12 sets bro. Its not the lifting where you grow its the resting bro. Train smart, you dont need to do that much

wow yes thats way over training bro i know since your young alot of times it feels like you gotta just tear that muscle apart to where you cant walk home but me being only 21 i recover well too and most of the time unless i switch things up every week i dont get sore. But im still pushing myself to hard and even overtraining at times. eat a shitload of food and sleep a ton you dont grow in the gym as said above you grow in your bed take this advice from these bros they have been there way longer then me and know what there talking about 9 to 12 working sets is fine on chest do a couple of warmup sets after you stretch to get loose then i would say that would be good. good luck and happy growing bro.

yeah thats not bad i only do about two but whatever works for you bro take the working sets down a bit stand back and watch yourself grow.

no need to do so many warm up sets bro, especially after you've benched there's no need to warm up again on incline or decline because you've already lifted. Get right to the heavy weights bro and skip all of those warmups once you've done a set or two. Research clearly shows that it's a FACT that speding anymore than 90 minutes per workout will cause overtraining and stagnate growth. Testosterone levels begin to drop after 1 hour...

OVertraining is what you're lookin at right now,....be glad you're young and could recover, but understand your body can only take so much before it quits on ya, and pushing it to the limit only creates stress and no gain at all, you might feel great doing all that sets and reps, but in the end you're losing that gain what you already have... AS FOR SUPPLEMENTS IT SEEM WE'RE ALWAYS PREACHING TO YA, THE BEST IS FOOD, PROTEIN, GLUTAMINE, CREATINE, VITAMINS AND WATER AND REST....I WILL SAY THIS FOR THE LAST TIME....UNDERSTAND WE'RE HERE TO HELP YA BRO....

I've replied to everyone of his posts with the same info over and over again and he only listens until he sees another miracle ad boasting some ridiculous claim because it makes mice gain 3X the muscle in 8 minutes without lifting weights... he'll be back next week asking another question about a product for a "friend."

Holy overtraining, Batman! Malic, you need to read through the Growth Principles for Beginners by BigA. It is a sticky at the top of the forum so you can always find it. Here is the link: http://board1.mantisforums.com/upload/showthread.php?t=33968

Obviously, you don't need the info about gear, but the most valuable information is the training routine he outlines. You are doing far, far too much. Young kids like yourself seem to seldom listen and actually follow the advice given to them by older, wiser people who have already gone through and found what really works. Do yourself a favor and just do the routine there for three months. You'll be surprised how fast the results come.

hate to say it but mikes got a very good point take in this knowledge bro people on this sight know what there talking about thats why mike became one of our newest mods cause he is very knowledgeable and knows and has been there. So take the advice he and all the other great guys that run this site and take it to the gym with you they wont lie to you all they want is to help reason they are hear.

way way way too much...I usually do between 4-7 sets for chest. 2 sets of incline or 2 sets of flat bench, and 2 or 3 sets of db fly's or cable fly's...That's it. I spend a total of 30 mins or less in the gym. I remember when I used to spend 1.5 to 2 hours each time in the gym and I never grew. I grew like 5 lbs in 2.5 years overtraining like you do. Onced I stopped and switched over to my 20-30 min workouts I started growing about 10lbs per year or more. The first year I grew about 25lbs. Start lifting less sets and more weight. Concentrate on form.
