Seems like I always have some crazy shit goin on :curse: Today I trained legs. Had a good w/o, went real heavy. Then went tanning immediatly after training. When in the bed, got real dizzy any time I turned my head to the side. When I was done, I sat up and the room was spinning. I felt like I was glued to the bed. It took alot to stand up. After a few moments, the dizzyness eased a bit. Now, if I turn my head quickly I get dizzy again. I also have this crazy ringing in my right ear. Any ideas????

sounds like exercise-induced hypoglycemia.

something Im experiencing myself. TonyKemp also has it. I definitely experience the same symptoms when Im doing heavy squats.... But here's a short description of what I experience.

I get real light headed, sometimes exhausted- to the point where I need a nap, or If I go crazy doing squats I feel like im going to puke. It gets really hard sometime to finish a workout if it goes past an hour. One time I almost got in an accident cause driving home after a hard workout is kinda dangerous- Im just not alert enough to drive. I've noticed that If I eat after a workout, it takes an hour or so, But I do feel a lot better.

i have the same symptoms periodically mostly on leg day or when i switch deads to back day and do rack pulls or somethin. I never knew it could be what normal said though a form of hypo is this dangerous???

oh ya, after a heavy back workout I took a hot shower at the gym. I almost past out in the shower. Tony's advice was to eat carbs and protien right after your workout. He said he likes to take a slimfast with him cause of the carb/protien combo. He also takes longer rests inbetween sets.

Everyone is at risk of exercised induced hypoglycemia at some point or another becuase of diet and workout timing. It's easily controllable, the other thing and more likely thing that happened to you is you were dehydrated after your workout (even slightly) and going into the tanning bed you suffered from any number of heat related illnesses. Just hydrate and try and stay cool and I'm sure you'll be fine very soon.

some good advice that I read in an article with Mishko...he said right after you work out to consume simple carbs...this will kick up your insulin level and restore everything as energy for your next workout-OJ or grapejuice workks best for me...hell if push comes to shove I'll drink soda-sugar is what you need

Kdog, did your vision kind of swim a bit when you were dizzy and the room was spinning? Did you have the urge to hurl? If it really is exercise-induced hypoglycemia, you are pretty bad off and need to get some carb ASAP because if you don't, your body will get them from somewhere else--namely the muscle you worked so hard on. I had a hard time gaining until I was able to control that.

I'm not sure from your symptoms though if that really was a hypoglycemic reaction. It sounds to me more like what supermannpc said, an exertion headache, possibly combined with a bit of high blood pressure.
