So what do you guys do when you need to hit the gym but your sick? I have a nasty cold and I feel like real shit. I'm affraid pushing it in the gym could push me over the edge. should I suck it up and quit winning or should I take A day of rest?

i decide how bad it is. If its just a cold, its really just an inconvenience. Once I get going the workout aint so bad.

but if you are truely sick, like the flu, and just feel like total shit, then stay home or yo uwill just make it worse.

for me, I never get these two confused. When Im "real" sick, I know it the second I wakeup.

if you've got a fever stay home and rest your body can't fight a fever and create an anabolic environment to build muscle. If you have a cold, studies suggest that cardio helps increase your recovery time but again nothing heavy in the weight dept because you'll be taxing your immune system. Feel better soon bro.

take a day off bro and double up on thursday or somethin one day off aint gonna hurt you at all sometimes it helps give you that extra time to recover.

Relax sometimes if you where to take a week off your body will feel even better and your lifts may even go up. Your muscles need a vacation sometimes too.

Definitely take some time off. You should be taking at least a week off every 8-10 weeks of training anyway to let your body recuperate.

Always take the day off. There is no reason not to. You don't want to get sicker, get your training buddies sick, get the gym sick. Be considerate. My text here is meant in a gentle way, I'm not trying to sound dickish.

All I'm saying is we train what? 3 days, 4 days 5 days a week? No reason you can't take a day off every once in a while. Shit, even if I'm not sick and just feel too tired or feel like I need a day, I take it. Like BS said, "Listen to your body." Plus, rest is a very important component in this sport. But then again, so is consistancy. So you don't want to take a day off too often.

A little O/T but make sure you keep your diet when you're ill too (that is, the best you can).
