I know they are legal in some states with a $200 fee. I love too shoot but my neighbors get ticked off with the noise of a .45

Does anyone know of a site that shows what states they are legal in. I had a .22 with a silencer but I sold it when money got tight a few years ago.

I wanna put one on a sig 9mm Navy seal model.

Can't help with your question but I've got 45 acres in the country, come on down and I'll show you how to shoot that .45.I've got a colt 1911 .45 and love it.

Heres a link bro. This is the only suppressor i will use, its truly the best you can get. They are my personal first choice and the first choice of many of the guys i worked with. When shopping for one, if someone posts decibel levels of the unit you are looking at dont go by that. decibels are deceiving. you want something proven. For example, the suppressors in the page im posting, well ill give you an idea. A soft tissue impact is louder than the report of the weapon. Suppressors are legal in most states. Yes you have to fill out an special application to acquire one, but heres the run down of how it works. If you qualify to buy a handgun you can qualify for a suppressor. You have to fill out an ATF form 4 and pay a tax stamp of like 200 bucks, and you have to pay a renewal fee every year but they will fill you in on all this if you are serious. The whole process takes about 4 months, and there are a few sticky rules that they are quite serious about. You cannot cross state lines without prior approval with it, you cannot loan it to a buddy to go shoot on the weekend without him getting approved for it and paying another tax stamp. in short if you get one you have to keep close watch on it. I have two of them but they stay tucked away nice and safe. One is on an HK.45 and another on an M-4. Both are deadly but the M-4 is insanely quiet. ok enough talk heres the link.

Hey thats awesome. I truely appreciate your post's. I dont have problems getting guns legally here in tennessee. I dont have a record.

I do live in the country and my nearest neighbor is a football feild away but they still bitch because all there hunting dogs get riled up.

My only intention is to play target practice without bothering anyone.

Swoool, I have a ruger P90 and 4000k rounds, Using multiple brands FMJ and anything else, without a jam or a cleaning. Thats a damn relaible weapon.

I had a 1911 and did have a few Jams. Considering I live in the boonies in front of a lake were strangers come to fish I want a weapon that I have 100% trust in. Dont get me wrong the 1911 is a Bad ass peice. Now that my wolf is almost all grown up he protects the land. He's a Timber wolf 6 months old 75lb's so far. Kinda big dont ya think?lol

MaskedMoron- I really appreciate your input and you answered most my questions.

Im looking to get a 9mm with a suppresor. I was looking at a navy seal issue sig, but im no gun expert by any means. Im looking for quality and accuracy. I had a glock blow up in a range so please dont say glock.lol

Springfield has those new lightweight tactical 9mm's but I dont know much about them.

Anyway, thanks guys.

P.S. Swoool, Youd be surprised how accurate I am :) and thats not just bragging the fellas who hunt out here say im a natural........I told them it's just a product of being born in the projects of chicago.lol

wow i never heard of a Glock having that kind of problem. If your talking about the Springfield XD pistols i have a .45 tactical that my wife loves to shoot. Only bad thing about them is they will not cycle with a supressor on the end. the way the pistol is built the extra weight on the end of the barrel messes up the reloading. I live in the country too and i have a lot of horses and cows. Sometimes i go out at night and shoot coyotes and i had neighbors who would gripe. Funny thing though after i stopped and a few weeks passes some coyotes ate a neighbors poodle and then they wanted me to start hunting them again lol. stupid people huh?

I hear you bro.I have a few neighbors but they are all family so they don't say anything about me shooting(wouldn't give a shit anyway).Think I'm gonna try a Kimber next, been reading a lot of good things about their new line up.On a side note, you got any fish in that lake,LOL.

Swoool, Yea there are plenty of fish in this lake but by the looks of the people that eat them I havent taken a bite.lol

I just get drunk and fead the fish.lol

Here in TN we are loaded with coyotes and deer. Now the wildlife authority here is realeasing black bears, red wolves and Bobcat's. What they need to do is realease a milion bats. I have never been in a place with more bugs in my life. You can just sit in the front porch and wait for a dear to pass by and shoot it. Easy hunting.lol

The coyotes used to be annoying until I got my timber wolf. He's Killed a few but he cant kill the ones that travel in large packs...........So im gonna get me some more wolves.lol

Man im thinking about a Sig p226 9mm......A little pricey but I just read an article were it was tested at 25 yards and did 1.25" groupings. Thats tight!
