This seems to be "a lost art" in bodybuilding. I myself have started doing this after reading about it and it is hard to do and I can feel my abs working while doing it. Just wondering how many of you have ever done, still do, or don't do this?

Competitors dont incorp that into there posing routine anymore. It is as you sai a lost art. Its more of an isometric workout bud. Hell just try posing for a minute in each of the madatories and you'll feel your muscles work and be shaking to when your done. lol

i do it all the time when getting ready for a show...most of the time when i am in the tanning bed & have nothing to do but lay there...it really helps to control your ab muscles...it gets easier the more you do it...

I do pose fonz! lol and yea I run outa breathe pretty easy doing it. I like to contract my muscles alot. I feel it helps the muscle out by posing and contracting it for as long as you can. what are your thoughts on this guys? I have started doing Vacuum's too for my abs as they need work. I have also started doing 2-a-days. I go early in the day and do calves (except for on leg days), abs, and cardio (3-4 times/week). Then I go around 10 at night and do my main workout.

ppl think posing is easy to do but it is extremely hard! you can run throuhg a posing session & by the end be soaking wet from sweating so much...

it makes your abdominal muscles stay contracted...i notice just walking around during they day that i am holding my abs in & tight without realizing i am doing it...anytime you hold your ab muscles tight your waist is going to appear smaller...

it doesn't actually make it smaller in size though? just makes it appear to right? like if you were a 36 in the waist and did it all the time it wouldn't help drop you down to a 34? something like that.

technically speaking, NO! i think you would really notice more of a difference if you are lean...

I got ya. Though you may not be lean enough to see your abs (I am around 12-13%BF right now), it will still aid in the development of your abs and helping to strengthen them if I am not mistaken?

Isometric workouts have not been shown to cause significant muscle growth. Vaccums are more for superficial looks making the abdominal wall seem smaller. Remember bbing is all about creating illusions.
