In today's ever evolving world, women have reached new heights in the realms of the male dominated arena of life. More women have discovered an entirely new sense of purpose and a different means of expressing their individualtiy, rebelling against the widespread belief that women should be the meeker and weaker gender. Today there is a place reserved for women in almost every aspect of society from sports to politics to freedom of choice and equality of rights.

As influential as the media is and despite the struggle for change, women are still being portrayed as sex objects in skimpy outfits on the tube or the covers of magazines which generates all this publicity that, not only exposes the finest of the feminine qualitites in a tasteless manner, but makes women vulnerable and the object of obssession of every thrill seeker's fetish. That has dramaticaly increased incidents of rape, incest and abuse which has flooded Battered women shelters with women of all ages from prostitues to nuns.

In all honesty i am tired of seeing young women starve themselves half to death as a result..i am tired of rehabs being flooded with drug abusing, obsessive compulsive, binge eating alcoholic females who have no sense of self worth left because they are victims of these circumstances. Because they can't "fit in" or meet the standard.

Meeting the standard...who are we kidding.

And then you have women who choose to fight back and take a stand, some who have resorted to bodybuilding as a means of rebelling against this form of tyranny...women who chose to make a difference even on a very small scale. The standard bar shifts dramatically and female bodybuilders quickly took on this image that puts prostituting anorexic models to shame.
The drug abusing dominatrix...

We are mothers, wives, sisters and daughters of people just like you. We are individuals who want to be heard and need to appreciated for what we have become. Do not judge us because your world seems so sane in comparison to ours. It is the insanity of your world that has made us sane. So embrace the change for it is the only constant in life i can guarantee.

AMEN TO THAT. PPL need to breakdown the stereotypes and molds they feel someone should look like and embrace what women want to look like. Women now adays are more worried about what there sigificant other thinks of them than there own health and well being.

Nowadays… this goes both ways. Men are increasingly heading to rehab, therapists and the plastic surgeons just to look that certain way…research that claim, you may be surprised to see the numbers.

Women are more objectified today than ever before. It’s really sick and as a father to a 4-year-old little girl all I can do is worry as I raise her in a shallow, materialistic and plastic society such as Southern California. But to blame this on anybody but the women who take part in this sluttish, distasteful and disgusting behavior is ridiculous. Women aren’t forced to go Howard stern and have sex with midgets. Nor are they forced to do anything for that matter.

So what do you do? Encourage good conservative values of the past?…well, feminists weren’t taking a likening to that too much so now we have a society full whores.

Personally, I think we should glamorize the condoleeza rice’s of today instead of the Brittany Spears. Unfortunately for the modern feminists argument, men aren’t your problem…the women who take part in these behaviors you criticize are the problem.

Change comes from within. It’s so funny to see people point the finger at others when it’s really their selves that need to be addressed.

I disagree with you Sandiego. If society which is the measure we set the standards by in this country say a woman needs to be 5'5 100lbs and have some big fake tits who is to blame, the women who have no say in what is said is "attractive" or not?

Thats just plain bullshit, we all know the 99% of society look at women and expect them to look a certain way, talk a certain way, fit into some mold they hold in high regards. When they dont there typecasted as a bitch, slut, dike, freak, etc.

You cant even remotely say men are having to deal with the struggles that women go through. Hell, we men, make the rules which society goes by so explain to me how men are worried about how society views them since they make the rules. C'mon thats a joke.

Your response is that of an individual who hides behind an illusion he calls "a value system". I hate to be the one to tell you that you have not seen the world through my eyes and i have been to the four corners of the earth and counsel abused women for a living. Women who resort to extreme means to express themsleves are almost 100% of the time victims of abuse. Corrupt actions are a direct result of a corrupt thought process which is instilled in our girls as a direct result of the standrads that society deems acceptable. As a female Bodybuilder and athlete, i have had first hand experience with fellow athletes being overlooked if they were not inclined to render "favors" for fame. Your words are those of a very sheltered invidividual, it is even moreso obvious in your idea of upbringing. I hate to be the one to inform you that you cannot protect your child from what she is destined to go through , nor can you shelter her from the cruelty that has left many little girls like her without the care of a loving and concerned parent. And she may find herself alone in her battles in the playgrounds of life. You can influence her but you cannot save her. And there are millions of less fortunate people in this world, men AND women who equally need to be counseled and given a sense of purpose based on what THEY believe in and not what YOU think they should believe in. Wrong choices are all relative to what it is YOU believe in. I would refrain from the name calling if i were you. Women who make wrong choices are not whores, they are vicitims and we can argue this point till doomsday.

Rest assured i do not point the finger at any single person, at any society corrupt or otherwise, at any family friend or foe if they did not share my perceptions on the world we live in. But i wil voice my opinion from a very objective stand point based on experience and not heresy, based on a reality and not a hormonal "feminist" outburst as you so eloquently put it.

Objectivity is key in enlightening the masses and debating sensitive issues like these. Objectivity you have none.

Yes, man does create his own reality. But the reality he creates is based on his judgement and many times that judgement is flawed due to a variety of circumstances that render certain individuals incapable of making either right or wrong decisions for themselves, assuming right and wrong are very relative things and vary from one "value system" to the next, from one biased critic to the next. I see past what meets the eye. Therefore labelling people is not a quality i possess. Too bad you can't say the same.

i dont think that sandiego is trying to oppose everything you say he was speaking of his opinion and this turned into a debate. Reading through all the posts i cant really pick up on anything that SD did to insult you But you on the other hand said several things that im sure would have insulted him. Im not taking sides here but i dont see the value in your last post i think it would have been better suited in a pm to keep the drama off the board. did you feel insulted there hun? Your thin skin is a personal problem that perhaps you should consider when you post radical babble. The purpose of a discussion forum is to generate thought and learn. Therefore, when people don’t agree with you, respect their opinion.
