Infection

I’ve been injecting prop ed for almost 8 weeks now. Im pretty sensitive to prop, usually after 4 weeks my site injections start to get swollen. Im used to it, so after my delts get really sensitive, I start incorporating other sites. Well, about 2 weeks ago I decided to rotate back to my shoulder. The shoulder felt fine, no knots in it… thought it was ready for another shot.

The next day the site swelled way up. No pain, its just getting to the point where you can see the swelling through my shirts. After a week, I decided to shoot some b12 into the swelled up area. I’ve done this many times before, I don’t know if there is any medicinal properties- but usually it helps with swelling, or pain from an injection. After a couple days I usually feel much better.

Anyway, when I pulled out the needle, a bunch of puss came out. It was a slightly yellow/ white color… not 2 thick. Not a good sign.

Im wondering how serious this is at this point. Im considering draining it tonight, maybe with an 18 gauge pin.

Just wondering what your experiences are, what your thoughts are.

be very carful draining it on your own... do you have any redness spreading from the injection spot, is it getting hot or warm in the area in question? ... the coloring of the puss is not a good thing...

keep a very good eye on it.. and I am not a big fan of condoning medical procedures performed on oneself... meaning, it's not usually smart to try drain an abcess yourself.. you could seriously hurt yourself if it's already hit a bad stage...

other thoughts i'm sure would be good here... but you might have to suck it up... and goto a walk in emergency room (so you don't report it to your family physician), and maybe get it drained and some antibiotics... but that would be a point of no return of course...

is it the size of a cist? oversized lump, what does it look like? ....

its about the size of a quarter in diameter. Height is about 1/2 inch. no redness. I think the swelling is going down a bit from a couple days ago. I have received similar swelling (not as intense) on the other shoulder before.- just a couple weeks ago. Im just really starting to swell up.

I was just kinda freaked out to see puss coming out.

no.. not just this product. I've used a lot of diffrent labs. I get this all the time. I usually get it after 4 weeks or so. It doesnt swell every time after the 4 weeks. Just hit and miss.

Personally, I think its just the prolonged site injections in one site. I hit my delts alot and dont rotate till they get sensitive.

Im going to start making my own soon, and hopefully switch to EO, or mess with the ba, bb and find something that doesnt effect me in this manner.

Yikes, if there is puss then you got yourself a abscess bud. Is it hard or soft??? If you decide tgo try to drain it use the largest gauge you can get your hands on and also use benzoyl peroxide at the site to keep the site clean b/c its a bleaching agent so it will keep infection at bay to some extent. This may not fix the problem and therefore i dont suggest you do this.

The fact you have puss means its infected, and not just from the body taking in too much oil from the stick. I suggest if you have the money get yourself to a walk in clinic and get it drained. they will cut it and keep it open, pack it with gauze, and have you on anti's.

get to the doc norm that doesnt sound good bro be careful on draining it on your own i say get to the doc if its not any better you need to start a round of anti's soon. Take care brotha.

Thanks for the care guys. I think im going to wait though. It is less in size than it was a couple days ago. I dont feel pain.

I know this sounds wierd... but I kinda want to lance it... just to see what happens. There isnt much any feeling there (this is probley bad too) - dont worry gbart, I wont have the wife do it! lol.

I would throw some wet heat on it as often and much as you can to get the size of it to decrease. This is what my doc had me do when i had 4 abscesses. If they didnt go away from that an anti's he was gonna have to lance them. And I was scared shitless b/c 2 were in the shoulder and 2 in the chest. They all went down and I didnt have to get any of them lanced. I would try that and try to get some anti's if ya could.

Brooo, you sound just like me. I'd want to stick it and squeeze that shit out
myself. I'd have to be dying to go to the doctor. Not to smart and nothing
I would recomend to anyone else. I would recomend going to a Dr. I have great
advice I'm just too stupid to follow it myself. Keep us posted.

norm, Im with Gbart, go with the ER so you dont have to report it to your FP. All they will do is lecture you (believe me I KNOW!!LOL). I would'nt ever drain anything yourself; its not worth the health risk bro!

Get in contact with me bro, long time no speak~!

Last night I drained the infected area. I actually sucked out 1ml of puss. I was surprised that I could do this, considering that I was only using a 22 gauge needle. I moved the pin around to 3 different locations and created a vacuum with the syringe. The size of the infected area went down, and it relieved the pressure.

After my injection this morning, I repeated this again. I sucked out an additional ml. The size of the infected area is much smaller. I noticed that there was less puss/ more blood in the syringe this morning.

Keep an eye on it. You may still end up having to go to the doctor. Some anti-biotics would help.

I drained a little more than a ml. this morning. Its getting much better. I think in a couple days it should be back to normal.

thanks for all your replys.

Just checked on the shoulder. Its hardley a lump now. down to about a 1/4 inch.

Only reason why i even bothered draining the puss out was cause I was suppost to go to a hot tub party tonight. I didnt want everyone asking what the hell happend.

I hate making up sh#t.

Keep an eye on it b/c if it is an abscess the puss will fill back in since its not left open to completely drain and heal with antibiotics.

i think you should go to your doc, there not there to judge only to help. havent you seen that documentary called the man hows arms blew up ? he was injecting w/ a needle that fell on the floor and his infection got so bad they cut out his whole bicep, it couldve been saved but he never went to the doctor till it was too late. why not go get it checked, you could tell your doc your on crack and they cant do anything about it .

One time when injecting my quad, when I aspirated some milky, pinkish, pus-like fluid came out. it came into the needle very easy, like I was in a vein and blood was pulling into the syringe.

I then noticed a small knot there. I chose the other quad to inject.

Later on, weeks later I tried to drain it myself. Honestly, you don't need an 18g, a 25g will do just fine. Have plenty of rubbing alcohol and some hydrogen peroxide. Remember, it's not oil you're draining, it's more water-like so the 25's are fine.

I was having trouble finding the right spot so it took quite some time.

Last thing, if you do go ahead, when you pull back on the syringe, it looks like air gets in the syringe - it's not (it's a vacuum), DON'T just let it go, the plunger will just shoot the liquid back into you (the vacuum effect does it). So gently let the vacuum go while holding the plunger tightly.

Good luck. In retro, I almost wish I would've not done it. Probably caused more scar tissue that it was worth.
