seriously, I think it's the biggest health danger we are facing as a nation. I believe it's bigger then cancer, AIDS, or anything else out there...and if something is not seriously done about it (besides talk) we will suffer as a nation. Overweight people have a higher chance of dying...it's a fact. There are many causes of their deaths, but to deny this would be stupid. Armed with that knowledge I can't see how anyone would want their kid to be overweight. Now granted, there are some people who have a more difficult time losing weigh than others, but that doesn't mean they can't be healthy. One of my best friends was rolly polly in high school. He got serious about his health and now he's weighin 180 sitting at 6 foot. I feel sorry for these kids today who are like this b/c I see their parents and they are just the same, lazy people who don't care how they look or feel. Who's going to help these guys??? If someone doesn't they will have a very short life.

Its sad but you can see a person 400 pounds plus in their late 20s or early 30s and just about count on one hand how many years they have left.

What kills me is these people still go and eat fast food everyday of their lives. Are they serious? At least try and eat healthy if you're not going to get your lazy ass to the gym.

i am happy that at least the nintendo wii is getting kids up and moving, so they are burning some calories unlike most video games, i feel sorry for most kids, cause they do not know better, and they are being taken care of by their obese parents who feed them junk food and give in to their every want, whether it be bad food or something that makes them more inactive

Couple of years ago I was taking my girls to swim lessons. Large pool at a highschool
and a lot of classes. I was amazed at the amount of CELLULITE I was seeing on
these kids under 12 years old. I would say at least 1/2 on them were fat. Some of
the Asian kids were very fat but their parents, who looked like they were from the
'old' country were rail thin. The parents were probably still eating the same (rice,
a little fish or tofu) but the kids must have been on the AMERICAN diet of 'Mcdonalds
ect. When you start out like that what chance do you have. I'm in calif. and the
style is bare midsections. I am amazed at the # of teen's and early 20's chicks who
wear this style but have a big belly hanging down. It is like they are proud of it.
It is funny to me but very sad.

Everything you said is so true, mcgaret. It's downright disgusting. You can go about anywhere and count people and more than half of them will be literally obese. In fact it really scares me.

it really is ridiculous that it's come to this... it costs more money to eat healthy than it does to go eat 3000 calories on the Dollar Menu

Other then making sure my kids are lean I dont mind cus at my age 90% of the
men are fat and out of shape so I look good to all the 'old' broads. lol
