I'm not too hyped for the main event, but the rest of the main card looks to be some decent fights. I don't like Evans or Machida and think the fight will be very boring, but call Machida by decision. I think Hughes is wayy past his peak (along with Serra), and think Serra will edge out a decision as well. I'm more excited for the McFedries and Edgar fights. My picks are in bold as usual:

Main card

Light Heavyweight Championship bout: Rashad Evans vs. Lyoto Machida
Welterweight bout: Matt Hughes vs. Matt Serra
Middleweight bout: Drew McFedries vs. Xavier Foupa-Pokam
Middleweight bout: Dan Miller vs. Chael Sonnen
Lightweight bout: Sean Sherk vs. Frank Edgar

Preliminary card

Welterweight bout: Brock Larson vs. Mike Pyle
Heavyweight bout: Patrick Barry vs. Tim Hague
Lightweight bout: Phillipe Nover vs. Kyle Bradley
Light Heavyweight bout: Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Andre Gusmao
Welterweight bout: Yoshiyuki Yoshida vs. Brandon Wolff
Lightweight bout: Dave Kaplan vs. George Roop

when's the next time Carwin is suppose to fight? I look for him to be the UFC champ the 1st chance he gets to fight for the title

I agree. I don't know if anything is scheduled for him yet, but there aren't many I see finishing him in that class. I'm anxious for the Lesnar/Mir rematch.

If Hughes wins and Evans loses, I'll be happy.

But since my favorite fighters rarely win....I'm going to be very unhappy.

YES, Lesnar and Mir!!!! I hope Mir beats the shxt out of that big, cxcky fxck!

And GSP vs. Alves! I hope my canadian boy defends his title!! July 11th is gonna be a good night!

For tonight, I hope Serra beats the hell out of Hughes. I think it may go to decision, as well...

I'm not on anyone's side for the Evans/Machida fight... hard to say...

i've read on some of the other boards that Mir is like 255lbs of muscle now and says that he won't be bully around by Lesnar the way Lesnar has everyone else, so that should be a great fight

Pay-per-view ..... means im not watching it.

But Mir vs Lesnar comment , I wanna see the size comparison for the fight since hes 255 now just wondering if hes close to the size of lesnar. I think lesnar still has his strength and explosiveness wise.

But if hes big enough now maybe he wont get bullied and thrown around that bad.

Skill , submission - Mir

speed , size , strength , clinch - Lesnar

personally even if I was the size of Bob Sapp I still won't go head to head with Lesnar
skill and technique will almost always beat size and strength (within reason)
but Lesnar is closing his holes on his fight game so it should be awesome to watch
still think Carwin will beat either one of them though because he has both-shit he beat Gonzago in like a minute and he's still undefeated

Kinda pissed about the Hughes/Serra fight. Winning by decision like that, doesn't settle a grudge in my opinion. I was actually more impressed with Serra than Hughes. Hughes may have gotten more take downs, but he inflicted little to no punishment on Serra. Anyway, the Machida fight surprised the shit out of me. I knew he was a better fighter going into it, but didn't think he would dominate that easily. Great night for me, called 8 of 11 fights, and even called the Laker/Nuggets game
Oh and as far as Mir's size. When he first fought Lesnar, I was really surprised at how tall/big he was in comparison. He really didn't give up much size. If he did put on more size, I see him being a real threat and edging out another win.

Machida looked good didn't he. He is so elusive. Joe Rogan was actually right about the karate head back thing. That is something we were taught as white belts. I think Lesnar looks bigger than he is. I know he is huge, I get that, but like you said he didn't like make Mir look small. I tell you who I think may be the real deal in a couple years is Bobby Lashley. I saw him fight on hdnet the other night and the dude came in dressed like Cena. In 45 second he was choked out. It was really unorthodox looking. Lashley looks like Wayne Brady bowed up. LOL

I really thought it was going to Serra, especially when they said it was a unanimous decision. Very surprised, but it was still a good fight nonetheless... it's always nice to see fighters show respect for each other after talking so much trash. Rashad took his loss very respectfully, as well... one of the things I love most about this sport! Great job by Machida and congratulations to him!

Now for Vandelei (sp?) and Rich Franklin in a few weeks!

lashley does look like a beast, not to mention he walks around conditioned like that all the time

with the right camp he could be something to watch out for. BUT dnt forget why he got kicked out of the WWE, he tested positive 3 times for aas. the UFC is keeps close eyes on their guys, so as long as he does break any rules he'll hopefully be breaking alot of faces instead :)

When I talked about technique I was giving the edge to Mir , on the striking and ground game , but wrestling strength and size to lesnar. Technique I agree always beats size , As long as your good enough , careful enough , and more skilled to not get caught.

I still havent seen fights Im probably going to google or see if I can find on youtube or something the machida and evans fight

mir and lesnar fight. and also see the size.

If Hughes wins and Evans loses, I'll be happy.

YESSSSSSSS!

Rashad was TKO'd, good. I never liked him even when he was on TUF. Whether they portrayed him as arrogant or not, I don't like his fighting style.

Hughes, even though it was a Unanimous Decision, hopefully shut Serra up. I hate Serra, all he ever does it talk talk talk and never shuts the hell up. There will be a rematch or two.

I hate Serra and I hate Evans as well i didnt get to see the fights memorial weekend i was fucked up at the lake. Just wish Hughes could have gotten a stoppage via ground and pound or something. Hopefully hughes will hang up his gloves soon before he decides to fight GSP again and take a wooping before he retires.
