Sweet and Salty Salmon

Just something quick but still tasty. Didn't have time for anything elaborate so a quick tasty meal is a good thing to have in your arsenal.

I had a 2lb salmon fillet from the Meat House (yay). Used a tupperware that it almost fit inside, lol.

This is what I used for the marinade.

Soy sauce
Splenda brown sugar
Ground Ginger

I don't measure anything for this, just go by look. Pour the soy sauce over the fish until it's about halfway high. I sprinkle the brown sugar and ginger on the fish and rub it in and put a little in the soy sauce as well. If I had to guess for this fish I used maybe 1 1/2 TBSP brown sugar and maybe 1 TBSP ginger. They are both strong tastes so you don't want too much.

After I rub it in I turn it over and let the fish side marinate in the sauce. I probably let it sit an hour while I was doing other things.

Then I cut it in half and threw it on the grill. Warmed the grill up to about 275*. I turn the center burner off after it's warmed so the heat is indirect and cook the fish for about 5-6 minutes on each side. Take it off and you have an easy delicious meal.

Bon appetit!!

I was too busy drooling to post a comment. It looks damn good though! I just bought and made fresh tilapia. Sooooo much better than the frozen crap! Of course, I don't have the luxury of yummilicious, high-sodium sauce to make my tastebuds do a dance, but still tolerable lol.

Glad you enjoyed, dude! Hope you shared some with the wife!! :)

It's really good, tastes pretty much just like real brown sugar. I could eat it with a spoon too.

Do you eat your fish with the scales on it?

It doesn't have scales, just the skin. After you cook it the skin is soft and fatty and has a pretty good taste. I know it seems gross and I never used to but I tried it the other night and it was pretty good.

Oh man, I LOVE my seafood. Only thing that grosses me out is oysters. They're just like giant boogers. I can't do it.
I used to eat seafood, until I was in Israel and got food poisoning on it so bad, I ended up in the hospital for 3 days. Since then, I've never eaten it, other than tuna in the can/bag. It's a "mental allergy" now. lol

That sucks bro, I got food poisoning when I was in Egypt but luckily (I guess) I'm not sure exactly what it was from so I don't have any mental allergies, so to speak, lol.

Yeah, I have some but it's still pretty high in sodium (at least for me right now!) I like to use it when I make pad thai... mmm, pad thai.

Yeah I've used it too... I don't notice a difference at all.
