Jets coach trips player is the talk of the NFL Monday in the wake of Sal Alosi's actions during Sunday's game between New York and Miami.
Alosi was caught on camera sticking his leg out to trip Dolphins defensive back Nolan Carroll in the third quarter of Miami's 10-6 win.
Carroll was running downfield to cover a punt and was forced out of bounds.
Standing next to a group of assistant coaches, Alosi clearly stuck his leg out and caused Carroll to fall to the turf.
At least he didn't deny it.
Alosi issued an official apology after the game.
"I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for," he said.
With a suspension likely on the horizon, Alosi went on to say he would accept any punishment from the Jets or the NFL.
The league has opened an investigation into the matter.
Meanwhile, the Dolphins players were furious when they learned of the incident after the game.
Carroll stayed down for a few moments following the trip, but was able to walk off the field under his own power and return to the game.
Alosi is in his fourth season as the New York Jets' strength and conditioning coach.
Did his idiotic action make the cut as one of the worsts of NFL Week 14?

I couldnt believe this when I seen it. What a dumbass, to do something like that.

the player was out of bounds.....all the coach did was stand his ground.....i see nothing wrong except it should've been a chicago bears player being tripped
