Shed never been bass fishing with me. So we get out there and she says she wants to really fish. So I give her a crash course on using an open face reel and about her 5th cast she hooks up. I don't know who was freaking out more me or her. I have never been so proud.

Nice .. I love bass fishing .. If you can toss a levelwind reel that's a good skill in itself without gettin a rats nest full a line.. Get her on a fly rod for some Florida tarpon next..

congrats, now the two of you can enjoy the activity together.

i wish my other half would try it, i go fishing about every weekend for redfish, trout, etc.. and she never ever wants to go. might be the fact that i get up at 4:50 in the morning but it gets hot fast now.

If she enjoys fishing, take her deep sea fishing once, I've done that a few times and I've been dying to go do it again, just haven't made it back to Florida since

I go offshore fishing from time to time. She's never been but she had a blast Wade fishing in matagorda bay. We go to the lake alot. We have a place on Sam Rayburn. So that's our weekend get away spot. I usually bass fish in the mornings and evenings we will bait up a catfish hole and bust out the pontoon boat. She likes that but it's boring as shit to me. Really it's a way to get meat lol. Saturday she nutted up got in the bass boat and off we went. 5 cast later she had the fish of a lifetime for some people. I prolly catch 3 fish a year that size. I hope she doesn't expect that everytime lol.

Beginner's luck is great. I remember me and my dad fishing from a pier in Florida for a week and not catching shit and my older sister decided to come one day towards the end of the week and she reeled in a 6 lb bass. I was so pissed I just sat on the pier and watched other people fish the rest of the day
