I got into the debate over this in another forum...
It brings up raw versus suited lifts. I have competed in Raw Powerlifting many times since I was 18...I personally don't count suited lifts such as this for anyone, and I don't see how anyone who actually has ever competed in PLing ever would. Also they are trying to compare this kids suited lift to the NFL record holder who did it with no suit...and it truly is just foolish..
Watch this video and see how retarded this whole thing simply is:

Those suits give a lifter 2-300lbs..So while this kids BP is probably 500ish on a good day that is apples to oranges. As a freshman in D3 schools, guys on the football team and lacrosse team at 19 were regularly hitting 500lb bench presses around 275-300lb bodyweight range, so while good, it is nothing extraordinary.
The kid cannot even double bodyweight bench press raw. If you walk into any real PL contest and don't have a RAW double bodyweight BP, you are not going to win or even place well on the local level...
Unfortunately the person who wrote the article does not know that these shirts can give you several hundred pounds..and neither do most others who view this..They think it's real..and it's really not.
This kid will get a rude awakening when he walks into Tryouts and he gets his ass handed to him by a guy 50-60lbs lighter then him and stronger then him. Can't bring a bench shirt to the NFL.
