Engineering question on cable crossover weights

Heres my question...on my cable crossover, the stack goes to 180 lbs but starts at 30lbs. I can do so much more weight say on tri pushdowns on this machine than I can on my seated cable stack. Its not apples/apples. Is this due to the fact there are more pulleys involved on a CC machine which shoulders some of the load?

I am looking at turning over my CC machine but want a decent stack on it. Seems like 95% of the ones I see on Craigs are Body Solid. I see one fairly close but only has 160lb on it BUT I'm thinking that when leveraged, it may be comparable to the 180lb I have on now

the weight on those stacks really are just numbers...

the more pulleys you have, the higher the number you can move-a double pulley system, one at top and one at the bottom will allow you to move more on the tricep pushdown...and, also, smoother

Craigslist is where I found most of my equipment and got lucky I found a lat machine with a row machine attached on the other side and both have 300lb stacks. It was an old high school wrestling coaches. They just don't make equipment like they used to.

Double pulley machines are much smoother, without the sudden rebound that you get from single pulley machines.
