Weighted dips

I used to do these a lot, but I've gotten away from dips for the most part because the new gym I'm going to doesn't have a dip station. I just bought a dip belt so I can do these when I switch back to my regular gym after the long holiday work hours are over. I think it's definitely one of the best investments I've made as far as gym equipment goes. The only better things may be knee wraps and wrist wraps

When I was doing them on a regular basis I was doing 2 45# plates for 8-10 reps

Same here, luv weigted dips, using that same weight, 6-8 reps and 3 sets, usually after close grip press,

I believe dips as well as weighted dips are one of the best ways to develop actual mass on your triceps and entire shoulder. I do weighted dips with my tricep exercise as well as a leaned-in version for chest development.

I also use dips on most days as an excellent warm up. But, with no weight. 3 sets of 50. Gets my elbows and shoulders good and warm...

Huge mass builder for outer pec and shoulder and carryover to bench a good bit if you bench with a close grip all the time like me. It's not hard on my elbows. In fact, the reason I bench close grip is because I have a torn tricep tendon in one elbow.

I love weighted dips! Great for tris and great for pecs when you have someone hold ur feet back and lean forward!

No elbow pain at all for me. I love doing weighted dips with drop sets. I used to only use 25# plates and add one each set then do a drop set until I was down to just bodyweight

Anyone use chains? Apart from the badass factor, ive heard they distribute the weight better for a cleaner dip? Thoughts?

I used to do them at the end of every chest workout. I got up to 4 sets of ten with 4 plates. Now that I am old and have hurt my shoulder(AC Separation), I can no longer do them.

Yeah, I know lots of fellas who cant because of shoulder issues. Too bad but ya gotta stay healthy. ;)

Overhead dumbells for me brother has been the best mass builder for my tris. Weighted dips are to rough after a while although its a good way to change it up for a short period. Preventing injuries is most important for me. Cant lift with them lol

I used to love weighted dips, we would start with 45lb dumbells between our legs crossed and work our way up to failure but it would kill me to do them now with my shoulder and elbow problems
