Who walks instead of running for cardio?

Started walking at a fast pace some this week and its a lot easier on my ankle than running is. I've always heard its better to walk fast than to run.

Cardio is all about getting your heart rate up to Target Range for your age and keeping it there for the duration of how long you want to do cardio. I'll be 41 Saturday, so my target heart rate is 150-165. I do 20-30 min at a hard pace on an Eliptical cause my knees cant take the pounding. So, to answer your question, walking is fine. Just get that heart rate up.
Peace ;)

I have always understood that either Walking at an incline or HIIT (I like/hate sprints) is best for fat loss

I walk just because I enjoy starting my day that way sometimes. Unfortunately most days I don't have time to walk long enough to make it effective for fat loss. I love jumping rope though. It's quick, easy on the knees, and gives you great calves.

I like to walk on the treadmill. Allows me to play on phone or make phone calls. Sometimes I get serious and kill it on the stair climber for 20 mins at over 100 steps a minute!

Like others have stated..... Work up to 15 on incline at 3.6 if free walking, 4.0 - 4.2 if holding on. Also love the Cybex Arc Trainer to finish off my cardio.

I love sprinting and would do it whenever my knee and back allows it. Else bike is safe option. Tho now that I am fairly lean I only do HIT style cardio. I have come to believe it is superior method.
