Dude looks like some one ran him over my god!! Wow! The blood spread through out his whole upper body. I bet it hurt like hell

Nasty! I've seen it first hand at a powerlifting meet and it's awful

The sound of a pec tear is ridiculous. I was training with a Jr. USA competitor once while he was doing around 500 on the bench. I though his shirt ripped.

yeah I've heard people say its a loud snap or pop, Ive not heard that but i have seen it and heard this poor guy scream like he was being killed after he tore his entire pec while warming up with only 135lbs at a powerlifting meets!

I also hear that most muscle tares happen when guys are warming up or doing lighter weight, anyone know if theres any truth to that?

Sick... However from the picture there is no obvious deformity. It just looks like he is bruised.

I don't know if there's any truth, but I've seen a 300# guy tear his quad warming up with 135 on squats. I've also seen another guy at our gym tear both of his quads on leg press doing ridiculous weight so I've seen it both ways. You certainly hear more people getting hurt doing lighter weight though.

And I've never seen it in person, but my old training partner tore his bench shirt in a meet and everyone said it sounded like he tore a muscle so I guess they do sound like a cloth tearing

I just watched that video, that's fucking nasty. You can see the pic roll up a little bit. That's a ton of weight to be holding with something like that happening

holy shit, on a side not i saw a dude tare his bicep at a ymca when i first started lifting, he was doing reverse grip bench with 225

I can't watch the video. I'm already pretty nervous when I go over the bar.

When I tore mine I had head phones on and that was full blast so I didn't hear anything. Not much weight either 315 on rep 5 or 6 after 365 for an easy double. I was a 405 bencher any day so I think my lack of focus among other things played a part.

Now I don't know what part he tore but mine was just the tendon and it was right in half. So there wasn't near as much bruising as him. Still bad though.

When it tore it sorta felt like it just quit and went flat. Like I felt it go flat and spazz out. So I let it down and though, "that was weird" went to push again it went up a bit then did it again. I knew something was up. I dropped it on my chest and in a panic with my other single arm pressed while sitting up 315 off me and a few feet away from the bench. So as far as I'm concerned 315 with 1 arm equals 630. lol! It didn't hurt right away. But when it set in I knew I was in trouble. Intense acute pain on and off for the rest of the night.

no futermro posting about a tare from reverse grip bench, just seems worse if thats even possible

dude it was nasty, i didnt hear it but in the mirror i saw the dude drop the weight on himself then someone helped him get the weight of then he fell to the ground so me and a couple other people ran over and his bicep was up his arm like in his delt.
