Ahi Tuna

Tonight's dinner: Grilled Ahi Tuna steaks:

Brush on a little olive oil, both sides (this fish is VERY lean, not much oil or fat of its own);

Seasoned with a little salt and pepper

Seared at high heat - highest the grill will go - mine is about 550. Sear for about a minute each side and yank it off. This will leave it rare, dark pink in the middle.

Served with a salad with balsamic vinegarette dressing and sunflower seeds.

Quick, tasty dinner! Only drawback is Ahi Tuna is a little pricey.

It could also be pan seared; I'm thinking about crusting it with pistachios next time...

If you like walnuts crust it with them one time too. It's great. We did a tuna trip not too long ago and I have around 350 pounds steaks in one freezer.
