Why NBC cancelled the showing of the Mr. Olympia contest.

I was reading the latest Muscular Development magazine and there was an article in there about why NBC cancelled the showing of the 2014 Mr. Olympia contest. The author said that NBC executives viewed it before putting it on the TV. They were surprised at the size and definition of the competitors and believed this was from anabolic steroid use. And because anabolic steroids have such a negative image in the minds of the general public, they did not want NBC to be associated with showing a sport that has widespread anabolic steroid use. So at the last minute they cancelled it.

It dosen't look like competitive bodybuilding is going to be a mainstream sport unless there is some kind of drug testing for the competitors.

hmm, if thats the case it guess it's ok for all the shows to be on tv with drugs as the main issue or topic of episodes or for example the show House, he was addicted to vicodin.

No shit right. Or the Rock who i'm a big fan of, and some other geared up guys get their own tv shows, but they wont even air the superbowl of body building. Sad indeed.

It's a damn shame what this country is becoming. Everybody wants to tell us what is best for us, and control everyone. What happened to letting people make their own decisions? If I were offended or upset by a show, I could turn the channel. America is really pissing me off lately.

We all know BB has image issues, in fact when I tell people on other non-BB message boards I compete, thier response at times is negative, almost offensive. I turn the other cheek and do the classy thing and dont reply to the accusations.....in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "go have another beer and a smoke, needledick and stop being jeoulous, I wouldnt dick yr old lady in my most desperate moment" lol
