Wellbutrin and Tamoxifen are a NO NO!!!

I was just shifted from using an SSRI to using Wellbutrin XL, due to the horrific sexual side effects the SSRI was giving me. Wellbutrin, aka bupropion hydrochloride, is known for having no sexual side effects (or very light ones). The BIG issue for AAS users is that Wellbutrin has dangerous results if you take it and Tamoxifen at the same time. Raloxifene has no bad interactions with Wellbutrin, so use it instead of Tamoxifen since Tamox is a CYP2D6 inhibitor and Ralox does not interact with that enzyme at all. Ralox is better than Tamox anyway.

Basically, Wellbutrin will cause your body to not produce much CYP2D6 and therefor Tamox will not work properly (meaning it will not take care of your gyno issue) AND it can cause an irregular heatbeat.


Just a heads up to everyone, since both Wellbutrin and Tamox are commonly used.
 
Definitely thanks brother. Would you happen to know if zoloft or lamictal has any side effects if mixed with anything we might use as bodybuilders

Go to www.drugs.com and type in the different drugs in the search menu. Once found, click the drug then click Interactions. It shows a HUGE amount of interactions with things, most of which are very minor (thankfully). Here is the one for Zoloft:

I think click on the Major link and it brings up a list of all the drugs with major interactions. If you do Edit - Find, you can search the web page for the specific drugs you are taking, or you can just scroll, everything is alphabetical. For example, Alka-Seltzer Plus is on the list and when clicked, it says " Combining these medications can increase the risk of a rare but serious condition called the serotonin syndrome, which may include symptoms such as confusion, hallucination, seizure, extreme changes in blood pressure, increased heart rate, fever, excessive sweating, shivering or shaking, blurred vision, muscle spasm or stiffness, tremor, incoordination, stomach cramp, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Severe cases may result in coma and even death."

They will only show drugs that are designed for humans and available legally, which limits is use for body builders.

I found that there are different levels of interaction 1-4 scale I believe. Pharmacist stated that the wellbutrin and nolva where at the highest level of interaction ( not sure how to state this, they are the worst together). They compete for the same receptors.
 
I'd be careful with Tamox and any ssri/snri. A lot of them work in the CYP2D6 pathway, my gyno pretty much exploded when I was on various ssri's and still using nolva in pct. Toremifene is another good alternative.
