how to get great abs

We all wish we had flatter bellies and better abs. This is true even of people who insist that they love their curves. For some people, a flat belly and rock hard abs just aren’t in the cards.
Their genetics and other health factors keep that from happening. For many, though, achieving the body shape you want is more a matter of discipline and dedication. And, regardless of your genetic and health profiles, everyone can benefit from the following tips:
[h=3]BEWARE THE FADS[/h]There are a lot of snake oil salespeople out there just waiting to prey upon your body image issues and offer you a “quick fix.” The HCG diet, for example, is one of them.

As reported by NutritionSecrets.com, the HGC diet dramatically restricts your calorie intake, which results in the loss of muscle health and can contribute to cardiac and other serious health complications. The Atkins diet only works while you’re on it. Those cleanses that are so popular? They might clean you out, but they won’t build you up. Avoid the temptations to cut corners with “miracle cures.”

The only way to get better abs is to work at them over time.

[h=3]PROPER NUTRITION[/h]Obviously you’re going to want to get into the habit of eating a healthy and nutritious diet. Most of us know the basics of this: organic and natural foods only, no processed stuff. The easiest way to achieve this goal is to shop around the edges of your store, where the produce, butcher section, etc are located. Avoid the middle where the boxed foods are.

These foods are filled with terrible preservatives and ingredients that aren’t going to help you at all.

[h=3]WORK YOUR ENTIRE BODY[/h]When you want to flatten your stomach and build up your abs, your instinct is going to be to work this section of your body a lot more than you work any others. You might even think you only have to work on these muscles. This will do more harm than good.
When you concentrate heavily on one part of your body you do build up your muscles there, but you don’t necessarily burn the fat that’s coating them. Unfortunately you can’t control which fat calories get burned when you exercise. All that will happen is that your stomach will extend as the built up muscles will push the fat out farther. This is the opposite of what you want!

Instead, work your whole body at every workout. If it makes you feel better you can add a few minutes onto your abdominal exercises but don’t overdo it. You want to burn the fat from your whole body to ensure that the abs you’re building can be seen!

[h=3]WORK OUT EVERY DAY[/h]Work out every single day. The best way to do this is to alternate difficult and easy workout routines to give yourself time to recover. Remember: to lose weight and inches you need to burn more than you consume! In addition to helping your body, you’ll help your mental health as well, which can improve your focus on your weight and health goals.

[h=3]SETTLE IN[/h]Flattening your tummy and building up great abs isn’t going to happen in a week or even a month. It can take a few months to start seeing the results you want. And, because the results happen slowly, you might not notice the small changes that will take place over time.

Don’t let this seeming lack of success derail you. Keep working! Changes are happening. You just have to keep with it.

Flattening your stomach and building up great abs is, believe it or not, mostly about common sense. Eat healthfully, exercise often and, barring any genetic/health issues, you should absolutely be able to achieve the look you want.
