Sent her 2 dozen roses to work with a very nice card that says, "To the bravest, toughest, and most beautiful mother in the world, who also happens to be my hero. Happy mothers day, momma! I wish we could be up there with you, but we will see you soon. I love you and miss you".
My mom is a warrior and true beast. She recently beat stage 4 cancer, and the whole process is something that is mind blowing. Long story short, the took her jaw off, cut the bone out of her leg to make a new jaw, and she's had to learn how to eat, talk, and drink, all over again. She never gave up, she never stopped being positive or fighting for her life to be normal again. When I start thinking about how "my life sucks" or things aren't how I want them to be, I think about what she went through these past few years, and it slaps me in the face, and makes me realize I'm being a bitch.
