The flyweight has signed an exclusive multi-year, multi-fight extension with the ViacomCBS-owned promotion, according to a press release. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“I am pleased to have re-signed with Bellator,” Loureda stated in the release. “As I have always said, I am here to show the world the true martial artist that I am and chase the flyweight belt. I was born for this, I am a natural born fighter.”
Loureda picked up her third win under the Bellator banner this past week with a highlight-reel knockout of Tara Graff. She celebrated with a post-fight dance that quickly went viral; according to Bellator, the finish garnered 11 million views on the promotion’s social media platforms.
In an interview this week on What the Heck, Loureda opened up about the journey that led to that moment and the backlash she faced for her provocative social media accounts.
“I think it was so satisfying for me because there was so much negative talk before my fight,” Loureda said. “I hadn’t fought in a long time, so it looked like a social media thing, but I was training so hard.
“It was really frustrating for me just hearing what people would say, the Twitter beefs that I had about my TikToks and the way I am, it just made it that much more satisfying, and I had to be that much more petty after my fight.”
A former Olympic taekwondo competitor and 4th dan black belt, Loureda trains out of American Top Team and counts former strawweight champ Joanna Jedrzejczyk among her teammates.
