Stipe Miocic | Esther Lin, MMA Fighting Following his UFC heavyweight championship trilogy bout win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 252, Stipe Miocic noted that he doesn’t always get the respect that he deserves.
Based on speculative odds for his next fights, he may have a point.
Betting site BetOnline.ag has set odds for potential fights between Miocic and UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (who has once again teased moving up a division) and a rematch with the surging Francis Ngannou, who Miocic defeated by unanimous decision at UFC 220 in January 2018.
In both instances, Miocic is a slight underdog, currently at +175 against Ngannou and +130 against Jones. On the other side, Ngannou is a 2-to-1 favorite at -205, while Jones is -150 to win a superfight with Miocic.
Miocic has won eight of his last 10 fights, including a UFC record four successful defenses of the heavyweight title. Jones, currently in a dispute with the UFC over compensation, is currently in his second reign as undisputed light heavyweight champion that has seen him defend his title three consecutive times.
Since losing to Miocic and Derrick Lewis, Ngannou has rattled off four consecutive wins against Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Junior dos Santos, Cain Velasquez, and Curtis Blaydes, with none of those fights lasting longer than 71 seconds.
