Winn also received an $1,800 fine and will have to pay court costs and provide clean drug tests prior to getting another license in the state, the NAC voted unanimously during a meeting on Thursday in Las Vegas.
According to the attorney representing the NAC, Winn admitted to violating the rules before agreeing to a settlement with the commission. First-time drug offenders can receive a minimum nine months and maximum of two years suspension.
Winn was submitted by Gerald Meerschaert on the preliminary card of the March 7 pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena. His suspension is retroactive to the event, meaning he’ll be eligible to fight again on Dec. 7.
The loss was Winn’s second consecutive setback after a win in his octagon debut against Eric Spicely at UFC Greenville in June 2019. Previously, he lost a split decision to Darren Stewart.
Winn was one of several UFC fighters who appeared before the commission on Thursday to address pending suspensions. A trio of fighters also received reduced suspensions for marijuana positives prior to fights.
