Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC Michel Pereira always looks to add to his highlight reel and his win at UFC Vegas 9 was no exception.
After a dazzling performance featuring kicks and punches off the cage and a number of jumping knee attacks, the Brazilian got the job done with a rear naked choke late in the third and final round in his fight against Zelim Imadaev. The official stoppage came at 4:39 in round three.
“I came to give the show that I said I was going to give,” Pereira said. “I was ready for wherever that fight was going to go. I dance the way the music plays.”
Call him SUPERMAN with that punch.

Like a fuse was lit just waiting for the chance to explode with something creative, Pereira was quick on his feet while still pacing himself during the exchanges. Pereira showed good fundamental striking early but then uncorked a jumping knee that snapped Imadaev’s head back as he smiled back at the flashy Brazilian.
Pereira then attempted a Showtime kick off the cage as he continued to throw everything and the kitchen sink at Imadaev. For all dynamic striking he showcased, Pereira’s best weapon was a right hand that stung Imadaev continuously during the opening round.
As the fight continued, Pereira wasn’t throwing with as much intensity while measuring his shots a bit more as he conserved some energy. Despite Pereira’s output slowing down, Imadaev was still seemingly so concerned about the Brazilian’s offense that he never really let his hands go in return.
While he was up on the scorecards, Pereira refused to just cruise to victory. He continued to pepper away at Imadeav with a technical kickboxing attack and then mixing in those highlight reel moves like a Superman punch off the cage that rattled the Russian.
With less than two minutes remaining, Pereira decided to toss Imadaev to the mat with a beautiful suplex and then transitioning to a rear naked choke. As soon as Pereira locked on the submission, referee Chris Tognoni rushed into stop the fight.
An exclamation point to a stellar night - @UFCPereira, take a bow

Afterwards, Pereira wasted no time taking a huge leap up the ladder by calling for a title shot of sorts following his second win in the UFC.
Dana White, Sean Shelby, I want the ‘BMF’ belt,” Pereira said. “Jorge Masvidal, beware, you are next.”
