The UFC Hall of Famer and his girlfriend Mindy Robinson were involved in an accident at his ranch near Flagstaff, Ariz., MMA Fighting confirmed with Couture attorney Sam Spira. The news was first reported by TMZ.
According to Spira, the accident happened late Monday evening. He is expected to undergo orthopedic surgery Tuesday to address the injury, and both he and Robinson “are expected to make a full recovery.”
The incident comes 11 months after Couture, 57, suffered a heart attack in Los Angeles. After undergoing surgery, the PFL commentator recovered and returned to the commentary desk during the promotion’s 2019 playoffs.
See Spira’s full statement below:
“Randy Couture and his girlfriend Mindy (Robinson) were involved in a Quad (ATV) accident late last night on his ranch just outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. As a result of the accident, later today, Randy will be having some orthopedic surgery. He (and Mindy) are expected to make a full recovery.”
MMA Fighting has reached out to the PFL for a statement on Couture’s status and will provide an update when available.
