One week after his bout with Thiago Moises was canceled due to Moises testing positive for COVID-19, Turner is now stepping in as a short-notice replacement to fight Brok Weaver this Saturday at UFC Vegas 10. Turner replaces Frank Camacho, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.
MMA Fighting confirmed the news with people with knowledge of the change following an initial report by BJPenn.com.
Turner (9-5) successfully weighed in at 155 pounds last Friday before his bout with Moises was canceled on fight day. He is coming off of a TKO-win over Joshua Culibao in February and has alternated wins and losses in four UFC appearances since appearing on Dana White’s Contender Series.
Weaver (15-5), who earned a Contender Series contract in August of last year, competes for the third time in 2020. He is 1-1 in the UFC so far with a disqualification win over Rodrigo Vargas in his UFC debut and a second-round submission loss to Roosevelt Roberts in his most recent outing this past May.
